I have started this thread in hopes that this is where we can have reasonable political debates about the issues that concern us. So if you feel as though you want to go into "enemy territory" (i.e. the Kerry or Bush supporter threads), come here instead.

I would ask that you please do not pull direct quotes out of either thread. That person may have you on ignore and may not be able to defend themselves. Pose a thoughtful question instead.

Well, I must say I think it is discourteous and rude to start this type of thread beginning with a statement like the one above given the previous discussion in the Kerry thread about specific posters being put on ignore.

I think LoraJ is just trying to put that behind us all and start a new thread where none of that happens. I don't see any problem with her request. I think it is a very good idea.

Thanks Esmeralda!
That is my intention. I have been seeing this happen throughout several different threads where people are pulling quotes out of other threads and directly quoting the person and that person may not even see the thread, or have the poster on ignore so they can't defend themselves. On other message boards I participate in, this tactic is a big no no.

I will gladly vote for your candidate if you can explain to me why it is better to fight terrorists with our children's lives (that is... "Boots on the ground" as Kerry has charged or to instead fight this war with all of the mechanical means we have at our disposal. That is the difference I see between the two on the war on terror. I am worried because I have heard Kerry say he wants two more divisions on the ground over there. Those can only come from a draft that he will likely blame on Pres. Bush, but a draft it will be. He doesn't seem to prefer deferrments either so all the boys and GIRLS will be going. Kind of makes a vacation at Disney seem out of the question. PS - Kerry only spent 4 months at war and cried all the way home and perhaps dabbled in treason. I am not sure I can vote for him even though some other ideas of his seem good.

Kerry has said he will definitely not have a draft. I have more faith that Kerry will bring our troops home much sooner than Bush will. Are you really thinking of voting for Kerry? It sounds like your mind is made up.

I think we are all naive if we think the troops are coming home anytime soon. If Kerry wants Bin Laden where is he going to go to get him. Iran and /or Pakistan????? Sounds like a Kerry invasion is in the future. He needs to look into the camera and explain HOW he will kill the terrorists. He has promised that he will do anthing he has to - to get them. I'm just saying that sounds like a draft. I hope not. He needs to clarify to get my vote. So far only Pres. Bush has explained the use of a mechanized army as the only method for use in his future. Really, this is the most important issue to our kids! Have I missed an important message from Senator Kerry?? Help!!!!!
