Police: 'Spitting' Teen Shocked With Taser At Disney

I agree 100% with the other officers wives who have posted. My kids would be more scared of us than going to jail, lol. I cannot believe this story. I told my dh about it last night. He was so angry, but then said now the parents will probably sue Disney and the police for tasering their daughter. It is ridiculous how the police are treated and disrespected.

Okay. We all know that these youths are losers, white trash, etc.

My question is this and I think it still keep the thread "on-topic" and will not run afoul of the mods:

If you were spit on like this at WDW, what would you do? Or worse, if your child was the recipient of this foul attack? Would you stay calm? You are in Disney and don't want to be booted as well or worse, get ganged up on and beaten so that you don't enjoy your vacation.

I have been thinking about this last night and today. DW, DS (will be 9 months at time of trip) and I are going in July. What would I do? I someone spat on my baby in any other place besides WDW, the person better hope they beat my unconscious because I probably wouldn't stop beating them till someone pulled me off.

In WDW I don't know how I would react, mainly for the first reason above: I don't want to get booted as well. Maybe I wouldn't, I don't know. Also, as we all know and can be seen from this incident, security at Disney is run very well. I have to say though, I would be hard pressed to not kick the snot out of them though.

I am curious and hopeful that by this weekend we will have DIS people that saw the spitting incidents and what the guest reactions were.

What's everyone elses thoughts?

I just want to remind everyone that Long Island is a very nice place and most of us behave much better than these teens from Shirley.

Except if you're a Red Sox fan in the midst of Yankees Stadium! Yikes! :scared1:

Actually, I wonder if these people are cousins of that nice family from New Hampshire...who sued Tigger!;) :lmao:

I still wish I knew what the motivation for all this was. Did they look at each other and say "Hey, Lets spit on people and curse them out. Sounds like fun, huh"??? Did someone look at them wrong and they started in taking it out on everybody? I just wonder how it all started. :confused3 :sad2:

I can't even imagine that being relevant. Anyone over the age of 3 knows that spitting on another person is vile, no matter how, when, why or who started it.

But, I'm guessing poor parenting is the ultimate reason this happened!

it has nothing to do with NYc, they were from Long Island. I live in manhattan and do not consider them from NYC.

Okay....lets just all put this into perspective & admit this did not happen because they were from L.I.
There are juvie halls all over the country that can back me up on this one:thumbsup2
First we had the garbage barge..does anyone remember that?:sad2:
Then we had Joey & Amy..not to mention MaryJo:sad2:
Don't even start in about the accent!!:sad2:
I am from Long Island & it is beautiful here & all my friends and family(which is ridiculously huge) live on L.I. all of whom would be appalled by these teenage beasts!
Don't Blame Long Island, haven't we been through enough!! (see above):rotfl:

I understand. I would hope people are only kidding when they blame WHERE these little goonies are from...the Tigger family was from New Hampshire, which has nothing to do with anything either, so...

This irritates the heck out of me!!!!! My neighbors 4 year old does this, and I think it is totally disrespectful!!!!!!!!!! I am not her peer, I think I deserve some respect. Her mother never corrects her though.

My kids attempted it once w/ her mother, and I immediately corrected them, right infront of her, yet she didnt get the hint. Any ideas on getting the point across w/out causing WWIII w/ the neighbors?? :lmao:

I just politely correct them, and I refer to the other parents as "ask Mrs SoandSo if she'd like a soda" or such. It gets my point across without having to be rude. I've had to correct my kids several times on how to address adults, as other parents often say "oh no, I like the kids to call me (insert first name)" I politely explain that I see it as a sign of disrespect to address adults that way and I prefer my children to be respectful. I am not their equal or their friend, I am their mother, first and foremost. If they EVER spit on another human being they would have begged that police officer to take them to jail to keep them safe. My cousin is a Mass State Police officer, and the stories he comes with would curl your hair!

Has anyone heard any statement from the parents? Seems another common excuse these days is 'he/she hasn't been taking his/her medication. People like this belong in a cage. They should all be tried as adults and go to the school of hard knocks for awhile.

It is also disrespectful to refuse to call someone by the name they prefer. It might be better to teach them not to call someone by their first name until invited to do so.

Ok, this might not be popular, but I'm thinking since we haven't heard from the parents immediately that those kids ARE in trouble at home. The other thing is this, and I know I'm being picky, so flame away, but I find the use of the term "white trash" to be highly offensive, especially in a thread mainly talking about being respectful. If the kids were black, would you be using the n-word? I was brought up taught that that term did not apply to black people in general, but to the people acting like these kids or whatever. But we still wouldn't use it.

As for the kids. Yikes! Can you imagine this? "We got money now. We can do whatever we want. Too &*@#'n bad for you, man. Gramps can buy us out of anything."

I agree that these jerks should be banned from WDW. But that brings up another question. How do you ban someone from a place as large as WDW? What's to keep them from sometime in the future simply buying a ticket and walking in?

Just wondering.

I started a thread about this yesterday. I don't know how to link to it though. It's on the CB.

Finger scan? Maybe they have a book of mugshots and a list of names of huge offenders. I mean, how many can there really be?

Another Long Islander here, however I am originally from Queens. Just wanted to reiterate what other LI's are saying and hope that we as a group aren't singled out as trouble makers. Like one poster said, the accent is enough that we have to deal with!

I will be there in August and will proudly tell people where I am from. It is up to them to judge or have the courtesy of mind to not think that all people from LI act like those savages.

I too am curious as to what the parents of these kids are saying...
