It is also disrespectful to refuse to call someone by the name they prefer. It might be better to teach them not to call someone by their first name until invited to do so.

Or you can teach your kids to behave as you choose and I will teach my kids to behave as I wish them to. To each his own, but if you are an adult you have no business being on a friend type level with my child. That's my feeling. And since for a very long time kids understood right from wrong and respect and now they don't (for the most part) I think teaching them to respect first and earn it in return is the right way. My feelings. I can have them. :hippie:

We were just there last week! We left on Saturday so we missed these charming folks, although we did get the story while visiting my parents in The Villages. The odd thing is that we were commenting on how nice and friendly everyone was this visit. Sure, we saw the odd tantruming child and overwrought parent, but they were the exception. Most people we encountered were as happy to be there as we were! :cloud9:

That is disrespectul in your opinion only. Children are children and don't exactly remember all the rules all the time. As long as they are good kids that's all that matters.

All towns all over the world have their own home-grown morons. It's not a reflection on the town, but rather a sad commentary on the lack of parenting. Besides, I have relatives on LI and they too are upper class (like us;).

It's funny how many us are willing to presume guiltiness over innocence here. We don't know the whole story. You can't believe everything you read.

Of course, because police officers and Disney employees lie all the time.
:rolleyes1

What, may I ask, would EVER justify spitting at and cursing at people? Is this a new contact sport? Clue us in, if you can.

I can't even imagine that being relevant. Anyone over the age of 3 knows that spitting on another person is vile, no matter how, when, why or who started it.

But, I'm guessing poor parenting is the ultimate reason this happened!

I would certainly hope everyone over the age of 3 knows that spitting on another person is vile. I just don't get how these stupid people think. Do people like that wake up that morning and chat over breakfast about how obnoxious they can be. It doesn't have to be relevant, it is just a question as to how people think.

lol..i'm not a sheep. I don't follow the herd because thats the way they are all going. I think for myself.

I'll just throw an aside here - did anyone watch Flavor of Love on VH1?? Punkin - she spit on New York - I shouldnt comment, but the "new" reality is the more often a kid tells a lie, it becomes the truth in their eyes - and then you are the "establishment" (showing my age... sorta) I think this started around the time of the OJ Simpson aquital actually - and I've seen it work too often in the teenage set -

and the other side or maybe a better arguement for cougar to try would be "innocent until proven guilty"

but make no mistake about it - I'm with the majority -

when teaching a 6th grade classs, outside for a gym period, I had problems keeping order with a few boys - I resorted to seperation - then the one boy throws a rock near me - and when I went to the principal with the boy - the boy says "I didnt throw a rock near her, I missed her, I was aiming at her!!" :rotfl2: I do love the innocence of kids!!

Removing the link because it really contains more personal information than it should (IMO-Full names of all people, and their ssn's). SO in the intrest of good will...please understand.

I just read the report. I wonder if these people were under the influence of something stronger than alcohol.

Previous posters indicated that their MySpace pages were filled with drug references, so that might not surprise me.
