Polaroids and scrapping

I need help scrapping some Polaroids. I have read not to cut them, but I am having a hard time with the dumb border at the bottom. I am making an 8 x 8 book for my Mom's cousin. He is retiring and I thought I would make him a quick book. Any suggestions??? I only have a week so I do not want to spend a ton of time on this.

I have 2 polaroids of the boys and I was thinking of framing the picture and covering the white part with cardstock or paper and then adding an embellishment on the bottom. I bought some colored bars (don't remember where maybe Walmart) and they vary in length or maybe add a caption of some kind, just something to fill the space.
Hope this helps.

Scan them and print them out on photo paper (or better yet, have them printed through a picture service).

Not only is the white border annoying, but they are not permanent. Someday those Polaroid images will fade and disappear!

I'm with you, I don't care for the large white border at the bottom of the polaroid either. I used the CM 13" straight trimmer and made frames from cardstock. Many can't tell those pictures are polaroids. :)

I thought of making frames but I do not have the tools and not a lot of time to figure it out. No option of scanning and printing. Well, I can scan, but do not have the picture ink to go with it. Maybe I can scan and just print on card stock. Something is better than nothing.

Can you take them to walmart or any other photo lab and use their scan and print machines? It's a little expensive but if you aren't enlarging the pics you might be able to get more than one on a page.
I never even thought about polaroids not lasting forever. That's making me rethink my page as well.

Thanks for the Walmart idea. I can probably get them all on 2 pages. I don't usually like the way they turn out - too grainy - but since they are small maybe it won't show.

Let me know how they come out.
I have one picture that is really good and one that is faded even though they were taken at the same time with new film but 2 different cameras. I might go the Walmart route or do it myself.

Hey Sue, if you haven't already gone to WalMart take them to Meijers. Their machine is better. FUnny thing is the machines at Sam's Club (at least in Muskegon) are great but I don't like the one at WalMart!
