I can't decide which to choose for lunch next trip-GFC or Konas. I'd have the shrimp caesar salad, which both places serve. I've had it at GFC and loved it. I see it's also on the menu at Konas, but I've never eaten there. Which is better for a nice, relaxing lunch of shrimp caesar salad?

So far it seems everyone prefers Kona. Do you have to make ADRs far in advance for lunch? Any chance of a walk-in?

Hi there, I don't think that Kona gets too full for lunch, but I would definitely make ADR's anyway. In fact, I would make ADR's for anything that is ADR-able, if that makes any sense...
Lately the crowds are so unpredictable, so ya never know!:thumbsup2

I don't think I've ever seen a poll where one choice has all the votes. Kona is excellant, though I've never been to GF Cafe, so I can't compare.

We had ADRs for a 1 PM lunch at Kona last week. It was almost empty. The same day, the MK was packed. It was a great way to escape the huge crowds at the MK restaurants and have a nice, quiet lunch.

While we really do enjoy GF Cafe and have an ADR for July, Kona is one of our favorites, for breakfast, lunch or dinner.:goodvibes

Ok I gave GFC some love.

I really like both places. It comes down to whether you want to be in a Victorian style restaurant or Polynesian themed one. GFC is usually a little more quiet and the view looks over the GF pool and grounds. It is bright and elegantly decorated.

The Kona looks out at the Poly lobby, which is lovely too, but can be loud from the open space. It is decorated in oranges, reds, and darker colors. You can watch the monorail station if you are seated looking towards the window. You can get that rare Kona coffee here too. It is also fun to watch the pastry chef prepare some of the evenings desserts.

I do recommend ADRs so you do not hit either one at a crazy time and have to wait forever. :)

Same here - I love Kona but have never been to GFC. However, I suggested you try something new since you've been to GFC before.
