Points Usage Question

I have 100 points at AKV and 100 points at OKW.
I know that the set of points at each resort are separate - and that I can only use the 100 points at AKV at the 11 month mark and then the 100 points at OKW can be used at AKV at the 7 month mark.
My question is this - if I book using the 100 points at AKV and then borrow a few points to complete the reservation can I call MS at the 7 month mark and say something like "Oh put the borrowed points back and use the points I now have available from my OKW contract" or is it kind of like, once I borrow I'm stuck using those points?

I hope my question makes sense?

TIA!

Borrowing is a final transaction. If the villa you are booking at 11 months out, is still available at 7 months out when you want to use the other points, they will let you swap. But if it isn't available and there is a wait list, you won't be able to do it. That would defeat the 11 month perk.

If you were able to change out the points at 7 months because it was available, you could take some of the current year points and bank them to make up for the ones you borrowed.

No. Once borrowed, the points have to stay in that UY. You could plan a split stay between AKV and OKW and then at 7 months try to switch the reservation to one or the other. Depending on the time of year, you may not have any trouble making the switch at 7 months. Alternatively, just borrow the few points you need and be done with it. Then the next time figure out a way to compromise and make it work. Many DIS'ers with a small contract at two resorts will either do split stays or alternate resorts every year. If you are going during a time of year that is busy for DVC, then you are better off borrowing the points and scheduling the reservation at 11 months.
