Points transfer question

A friend of mine made a reservation with his points and I now want to transfer some of my points to him. Is there any restrictions on transferred points? In other words if I transfer him 2011 points can he bank them if need be?

you can only transfer current pts, not pts that are banked or borrowed.

he can bank pts that have been transferred in. (but you can't borrow pts that have been transferred in.)

transferred pts are supposed to retain their home resort and UY month.

so it sounds like your plan should work so far...

So if I have a Aug UY and Oct UY sale pending once I close I can transfer Oct 2010 points into Aug contract and bank them by May 31st and they are still good until Sept. 2012 correct?

Yes, you can transfer Oct to August. Once banked, the 2010 points will now be valid for the Oct 2011 UY, which includes until the end of September, 2012.
