What are my other options if I need more points and I am unable to get a transfer of points?

Borrow from the next year. Purchase one time use points, up to 24 points I believe for $15/point. Rent points. Or, make a cash reservation.

You can only purchase one-time use points for a reservation at the 7 month mark or less.

Another option is do add-on--it is sometimes referred to as addonitis.
