I sold 4 points to someone sometime during the summer. I had a few left over from 2005. My use year is Aug-Aug. We didn't get our new points until August of 2006, and I sold those before then. Well, if I look at my points now, I have 146 for 2006. They took the points from 2006, and I want those points. The 2005 that I have leftover are going to go to waste. I didn't tell them what year to take them from, but if I haven't gotten 2006 yet, wouldn't I have to tell them to borrow?

I presume when you say you sold points, you mean you transferred them to someone else, since 4 points is not enough to make any type of reservation.

Did you just do this recently, or was it before Aug 1st.

Aug 1 began your 2006 use year. Were the 4 points from 2005 banked into 2006? And those are the points you wanted to transfer?

Banked points cannot be transferred. Thus they would have to take the 4 points from your 2006 Use Year.

If you did sell them as a transfer prior to Aug 1st, then it depends on what use year the person who received them was in. Transferred points do not normally cross use years.

If for example they had a march use year, then they were already into their 2006 use year when you sold the 4 points, so MS would have used points from your 2006 use year.

Will you be taking a DVC vacation during your 2006 use year? If so, then there's no problem. Just use the 4 banked 2005 points toward that vacation.

If your 2005 points expired and were lost, and you transferred 4 of your 2006 points, then I think you're out of luck. DVC does not get involved concerning any point transfers. All transfers are irrevocable.
