Points plus cash ressie

If I were to try to book a reservation but I was short 5 or 6 points, do they just charge me a certain amount of money for the few points I'm short, or do I have to pay one whole night cash? Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

The whole night has to be either points or cash as they come from different inventories and cannot be mixed. Or you could borrow those points from the following year if you need to and have them available.

Or you can rent points from another member and have them transfered into your account. Although it may be difficult to find a member who has that few points to rent.
