Points in Resale Contracts

Got another question, but it's just outta curiosity.

On the resales, there's contracts for 50 points all the way up to 600.
How can 50 -150 point contracts exist if Disney sells the original contracts for 160 points? Why would anyone buy a contract with low annual points like that? Is that what's called an add-on?

I might as well ask this too: what are developer's points?

In short, I'm really leaning toward a resale purchase and I think I've narrowed it down to Boardwalk Villas or Saratoga Springs. But my thinking is if my "home" is Boardwalk, then I'll have that 11 month window and Saratoga Springs is big enough I ought to be able to book there at 7 months. I like those two places the best...I think. :lmao:

Man, this stuff is like a mental chess game with points, resorts, and location to parks, amenities, and I know I'm gonna try to squeeze Disney rewards outta this somehow, wonder if I can write one of those checks for a month and get the reward points? :dance3:

Smaller contracts were add-on points to the original. For instance I have an original contract for 230 (the minimum at the time), then we "added on" as we seemed to always need more points over the years. So I also have a 40 point contract, then added another 40 points, and then a 35 points, for a total of 345. It operates with member services as one contract, under one membership number, use year and same resort...but legally they are still 4 separate contracts, and can be sold separately.

The minimum add-on contract is 25 points (cash) or 50 points (financed).

My points are pretty well planned for the next few years. Most of my friends have young 'uns, so they, naturally want "Unca Chuck" to take 'em to see Mickey.

Here's to good uncles!

HI UR,
When I bought VWL back in 2001, the minimum for a new purchase was 150 points.

I've done 6 add-ons since;)

I'd love to have you as a neighbor at BWV :)
