Hiya

Well got up this morning to my first ever speeding fine (after 5 years of driving) I am gutted as you can imagine, but have of course accepted the points and posted the cheque (after all I was doing 34 in a 30 as the fine states I knew it when I did it).

But the question is how will this effect me being able to drive in the states in 2007 (as I will be 25 then and I am named on that years car hire as the second driver) I arnt driving this year.

Its definatly true the saying you live you learn,

Speeding points do not affect you in the USA at all. DH had 9 points when we went last year - no problem. (Not what I said when he got them though) :rotfl2:

Made no difference when dh had 3 points on his licence, you just have to make sure that you take both parts of your licence with you if you have one of the new licences.

the points that make any odds are: driving without due care and attention, careless driving, dangerous driving and all those variants (naturally including causing death etc), and also any alcohol or drug related endorsements. Everything but speeding
