points and rented trip

Hi

I am looking at renting some points to add to my exsisting vacation, would i be able to get the reservation linked so i dont have to check out of the room and re check inn.

any help would be appriciated

I have done that no problem. MS was able to see my rented reservation and linked my reservation onto it and we didn't need to check out of the room. I believe I did need to go down to the desk and re-check in though.

Yes, as long as both reservations are for the exact same villa type/view/size.

For example, if you have a dedicated studio, you can't link it to a lock off studio, or if you have a value studio, you can't link it to a savanna view studio.

You are not going to rent points. You don't rent points.

You will either transfer points into your account so they become your points to do with as you wish (they need to be the same resort as yours to use them at 11 months out). Then you just make the reservation to add the night to your existing reservation (if the villa is still available).

Or you rent a reservation that another member made with their points. You never control that reservation; it always belongs to the other member. But you can link them as long as they are the exact same villa. You add that reservation number to your reservation and your resevation to the rented reservation.

Just be sure to have both members you are renting from call MS to link each of them together. Calling one may work, but I would have both call to be certain.

As mentioned above, make sure booking category is identical and then you may only have to check in and out without changing rooms. No guarantees, but it is possible.

If you are doing the DDP you will need to have it all days of the entire reservation though. You cannot have it just for a portion if the ressies are linked.
