Pointless speculation: Into the Woods

If I remember correctly, when I heard the first discussions about turning ITW into a movie, they considered an animated movie rather than live action. I'm wondering how that might have played out. Of course, they would have still had to make changes to the story to cut down on running time. But do you think that casting might have been different? And do you think the story would have been approximately the same tone, or would they have retained more of the darkness? Classical animation or computer? Thought this might be fun to think about.
