I read in some previous posts that there are sample spreadsheets available to help keep track of your point usage, use year windows, banked and borrowed points, etc. Does anyone know a link where I can find this?

Thanks!

I use MS Works. Basically I wrote a simple spreadsheet with columns for A)date B)description (Ressie #, room type - like Studio OKW 5 nights) C)points used D) total points available (ex - column D3 + C4). Later I added a colum to include names of friends and family that had accompanied us on a particular trip. Each June 1st I add in the points for that year (my UY is June), If I bank pts I'll subtract them them, then re-add them each UY - thus giving me an ending balance of -0- for each UY - just seems to make the tracking easier. I know that there are some available for download from other members, but Ii've not used them.

Look for the thread "Point Tracking" its last post is dated 11/19/02

There are a number of good programs written by DVC members who have made them available for DIS members to use.

If, however, you're looking for just a simple spreadsheet, I developed one in 1996, which I have updated over the years. It was first introduced on CompuServe and has been shared with a large number of DVC members.

With the DVC Point Calculator you can quickly create various scenarios to determine the best usage of your points. Your banking and borrowing requirements are computed automatically. Add-on points are easily incorporated into your computations.

If you are contemplating joining DVC or planning to purchase some additional points, the DVC Point Calculator can help you determine the number of points to purchase.

It is in MS Excel format. The file's zipped size is 53.9k...expanded it's 273k.

I continue to use the spreadsheet from that link all the time. Even more useful than ever now that I own two contracts with different use years!!!

I know that Caskbill has put a nice one together as well. You can find it on his site: http://www.seidata.com/~wneth/id57.htm. I hope he doesn't mind that I pasted this from a previous post of his...he intends it to be used as freeware by DVCers!

Both programs look great and should be a big help to anyone tracking their points.

I have tried Caskbills and only gotten an error screen. And when I try to download SJCSuzy's DH's I get an error message saying that the zip file has been damaged, changed or truncated. Any other suggestions out there? Thanks!!

I also wrote a DVCPoint Program. I wrote it mainly for me, it tracks points from mulitple home resorts and has a Year at a Glance view, once you pick your Resort, Unit, View, and click on the date, it adds up the points for you.

Anyhow, you can get to it from my home page link above. There are mulitple downloads, if you have Microsoft Word on your PC, then you should only need to download the smallest install. The other install has components in it that come with Word.

Good luck finding the program that is right for you!
