POFQ to UCF arena without a car!!!

Just noticed The Killers are playing at the UCF arena whilst i'm there with my friend. We are HUGH fans and there are tickets available but i have no idea how i'll get there and back without a car. Rang mears and they will arrange a car but it's $109 each way. Taxi estimator says $75 each way but that was a bit off last year we thought. Don't want to get stuck in the centre of orlando. Any ideas?

Have you tried getting a quote from a limo or town car company ? Maybe they could beat the Mears price for you... just an idea

I looked into the same trip last year with DH (to see the Harlem Globetrotters ) as I'd hoped to get a deal with ticket and transport combined. In the end we drove up

UCF is quite a long way from the WDW area (I think it took us about an hour to drive), so I can understand the cost of transport and I think it's unlikely you'll find anything much cheaper than the quotes you have. I was really impressed with the UCF campus, and probably got as much enjoyment from experiencing that as from watching the Globetrotters!

Well couldn't resist and booked the tickets anyway. Still waiting on a couple of quotes from towncar companies. But it's the Killers what can you do.

I listened to the latest discussion podcast on Disunplugged and they talked about Mears, after hearing what they said I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. They recommended using a town car, whatever that is.

I am SO jealous!! I am in love with this band and would kill cutie to get to see them in the US. Unfortunately for me, I will miss their Florida date. Have a fantastic time anyway!! I'm sure the transport plans will come together.

It'd probably take a while, but you can get a Lynx bus from DTD or the TTC, to central Orlando and then one to the UCF arena (probably).

Search google for Lynx and then look for the appropriate links. You'd be a mug to pay that much for a taxi each way.
