I targeted Apr 27-May 2 thinking most spring breaks will be over and the crowd levels might be lessening -- however, now I see on the WDW site that POFQ (where I have my reservation) is sold out!!! Uh oh -- should I reschedule my trip? I can play with the dates. I am trying to avoid heavy crowds.

POFQ is the smallest of the Mods and usually sells out fairly quickly. It still does not mean huge crowds. It is dififcult to gauge park crowd levels from just that as there are so many DW hotels and also thousands of guests per day not staying on-site.

Point taken. I don't know if I want to be in a full resort, though. What if there is something about the room that makes me want to switch? That wouldn't be possible in a full resort, right? Hmmm... if I move over to POR, though, they might fill up as well when it comes closer to the dates.

I would not worry too much. If you are staying say 6 nights and plug in those dates and the hotel is sold out fo ronly one of those nights, it will come back unavailable but they hotel coudl be far from full on other nights of your stay. I have also found theewebsite often shows sold out before the hotel actually is. Even if it is sold out on your arirval day, everyone won't arrive and check-in at once so there is leeway to switch rooms.
If sold out, the crowd will still be considerably smaller than half full at say CBR which has twice the rooms.

Thank you. I was thinking of pushing the trip from Apr 27 - May 2 to first week of May, but if the crowds aren't that different, it wouldn't be worth it. Apr 28 is my mom's bday and I already have ADRs...

Do you know anything about the crowds at that time?

:)

The time you are going, I would not be surprised if it were sold out. If you are trying to go for lesser crowds, you probably need to contmeplate a completely different season.

When the AP codes came out I booked at AS Sports, but then decided to upgrade to a moderate. The day before (when I booked AS Sports) I had been given a quote for PORS. The very next day PORS was no longer available with the passholders rate, but POFQ was. I booked it for May 3rd-10th. PORS is much bigger than POFQ, but while rooms were available at POFQ, nothing was to be found at PORS, at least not with the AP discount.

The CM asked me if I wanted to request a particular view or building and also offered me a king or water view room. It appears that my trip will start the day after yours ends. I can't believe the occupancy could change that much overnight. There are probably POFQ rooms in inventory, but they may be being held for AP, FL resident, or general public codes.

I'm thinking of making my trip the first week of May and avoiding April altogether. I see there are POFQ rooms available for that first week in May.

I think you will find that your hotel is booked because the CBR main pool is closed at that time and the CSR main pool slide is closed at that time as well. I am going to be at WDW the week before you and there were a lot of people moving to POR and POFQ my week because they were the only 2 moderates that had the main pools and slides in full operation. If you don't care about main pools or the main pool slide you may want to check the other moderates. That could be the reason your moderate is booked!
