I have a friend who will be staying at POFQ with her DS 4 in Feb. She has only been to the World once, and has been asking me for advice (but I'm a CBR know-it-all)... so I ask you... Anyone have some good advice on room requests for the POFQ? What rooms are quiet for naptime but still close to the main building, and what rooms might overlook the reflecting pool? Love to hear all your experiences. Thanks!:goodvibes

Everything is Close at POFQ I think building 5 is a nice location . Away from the parking lot noise but close to everything else. This is where we stayed and it was great .

No room seems to be a bad location here. This is a very quiet resort. I have walked it many times in July at a peak period when the parks were extremely crowded but the resort was almost desolate. The pool is the liveliest place but not that lively. The whole resort feel is quiet and cozy.

I think POFQ is a wonderful resort! It is smaller in size, but quiet and peaceful. We stayed in bldg.5 this past Feb. It was close to everything, but still quiet. I was so impressed with this resort. I would not hesitate to stay there again!

Now that all of Disney's resorts are non smoking, I'd request building 4. It's the closest to the food court and bus stop. I'd rather be away from the pool because of the noise that goes along with it.

WE stayed in building 5 several years ago and we loved it. It is a relatively Long building so one end is near the pool, the other is not. Nearer the pool would be noisier. I don't think there is any reason to request a special view here. They do have water view rooms that overlook the river, but I don't necessarily think they are better as the gardens are beautiful too. It is a small resort and everything is pretty compact.

Thanks for the replies. Are there any specific rooms or views that I should request? TIA :goodvibes

First, I'll agree with everyone else that since POFQ is such a leasantly compact resort there's no such thing as an inconvenient room location.

You really won't have to be concerned about noise. If there is a noisy group, they'll tend to be walking from one location to the other ... other than the pool, there's not really a natural place for groups to congregate that's anywhere near rooms.

Buildings 2 and 5 flank the pool. Each of them are L-shaped, with one side of the long part of the L facing the pool. One side of the short part of the L faces the river. Any room that faces towards the pool or the river is called Water View ... it is a separate room category that costs extra per night.

In general, it's not a good idea to request a specific room number. Chances are, that room number won't be available. Since the room assigner can't know WHY you want that room number, you will just be assigned any old room, rather than a room that has similar features to the room number you requested. In other words, they can't know you like that location ... maybe that room number is your lucky number, maybe you stayed there before, maybe it's the lottery number that won you the money for the trip, etc. So you'd be just as likely to get a room across the resort than to get a room nearby the specific one you requested.

POFQ is a small resort that shares many of its functions with POR; the buses, the sit down restaurant, and the marina.

I recently visited POFQ while staying at POR. I have nothing but good things to say about both resorts! They do *sometimes* share buses but I didn't have any problems with them. I loved the fact that staying at one gives you full access to the amenities of both! I look at that as a plus, not a minus. :thumbsup2

Ahhh...POFQ...a little slice of heaven! We stayed in building 5 in 2006 and it was wonderful. However, like others have said, ANY building will be a good choice here. The entire resort is peaceful and relaxing.

I requested a rivew view in building 5, and it was perfect. I think there were only 3 or 4 rooms on my hall, and I never saw anyone walking by the room. I was in 5220 (2nd floor).

DH, DS and I stayed at POFQ in September. It was our first trip to WDW and we loved the resort. Although the resort is fairly compact, with a child that age, I would recommend building 4 or 5. They are both close to the pool, food court and bus stop.
We were in room 4127, right outside the doors to the food court and it was still quiet. I am hoping to get a room in building 4 again when I take my young neice and nephew down next year.

Thanks for all the replies! :goodvibes I think my friend (who is staying at POFQ) is stopping by tomorrow for a visit and I can't wait to share this thread with her. Thanks again for all the tips!:disrocks:
