Well, I just got back from 8 nights at POFQ and I am in a deep depression. We had a wonderful time. No problems to report. Mousekeeping was fine, although I think the rooms need a deep cleaning. We checked in on 5-26 and I never heard one word about smoking areas, etc. Maybe they are phasing it in as guests check in. Did notice that the ashtrays at the elevators are gone. The buses were OK. Most of the time we had very short waits, but several times had to wait awhile. You know how that is. I am not sure I like the new automated bus music and info. Several times it was way too loud, sometimes you could barely hear it. The music is geared toward Riverside, even on the POFQ only bus from the MK. NO jazz. I really did not want to hear all the info over and over again going to the parks. One feature that I found very annoying--once the bus turned into POFQ, the park sign on the front would blink off and you never knew what park the bus was going to unless you asked. We went to the MK on Wed and Fri at opening and got to ride on Cruise Line buses! I could get spoiled to that! We used the food court a lot and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Any questions? I'll be glad and try to answer them.

We are staying at POFQ in March, first time there. Can you tell me how long to each park via the bus? And the buses pick up at POFQ first and then POR right? Did you run into a lot of times where you had to stand on the bus?

The bus rides to Epcot and MGM are fairly short. The ride to MK takes about 10 minutes if you do not go to Riverside. The trip to the AK is longer. In the evenings, POFQ has its own bus to and from the MK. The buses do stop at FQ first and then go to Riverside. I never had to stand on a bus going to the park, but most nights at closing the buses are packed like sardines--plan to be standing.

Just got back from our stay at POFQ (June 16-23). I really enjoyed the resort. I liked the fact the FQ side is smaller then Riverside. One bus stop and short walk to everything. Never had a problem with the buses. FQ was picked up first every morning, so we always had a seat. Sometimes in the evening we would have to stand, but usually found seats at least for the kids. And everytime, except once, we were dropped off first.

I stayed at the POFQ last summer and also loved it..small, quiet and lovely..

Thanks for the report. We'll be staying at POFQ in September and we're looking forward to it!

Are there refridgerators and coffee machines in the room or do you have to pay extra for that?:confused3

How was the noise level? We will be staying with our 17 month old DD so we will be back in the room relatively early.

I've always found POFQ to be very quiet, and we even have stayed there during Spring Break, when the place was completely booked!

I have a question. We've only stayed at Pop before and we're staying at POFQ for the first time this fall. At Pop each park has its own bus queue. So if you want the MK, you get in the MK line. If you want Epcot, you get in the Epcot line. I saw pictures of the bus depot at POFQ and it looks like there's no lines or anything??? What happens when the bus pulls up? Is it just chaos and people cutting? I don't want to wait 10 minutes and then be shoved aside by someone who just walked up. I very much like the system Pop has--it maintains order.

Great to hear your vacation went well! I am considering POFQ for our next trip, as we will stay for 10 nights so we can't really afford a deluxe. :)

There are two bus shelters, each one dedicated to certain parks. You sit in the shelter and wait for your bus. Since there are people sitting there waiting for different buses, I didn't notice any kind of mad scramble when a bus arrived. There was plenty of room, since they stop there first, and everyone was polite. During real busy times, there was a CM there to announce which bus was approaching and to maintain order.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for all of the info! We're staying there next month and CANNOT wait. DH and I are really looking forward to POFQ.

With the summer codes, we just upgraded to POFQ last week. We're looking forward to a great, albeit HOT, anniversary trip.

How long is it to walk from POFQ to Riverside? For instance, to eat at Boatwright's? To walk to their main pool?

Walking is about 10 min. You can take a boat too, but often the boat wait times make that option longer.

My question is this. I have a standard view booked. No water available. Would my view be strictly a parking lot ? What rooms face the inner courtyard areas ? Are they standard as well ? Thanks.

To the OP. Glad u had a nice trip. This will be my first stay at the FQ.

The view at POFQ is not at all important. Standard rooms do face the courtyards and the parking lots, but there are plantings, etc between any buildings and the parking lots. At a moderate resort, to have a view is to have your curtains open, which means YOU are the view when people walk by your room. I have stayed at POFQ 4 times and it has always been quiet. Tips for a quiet room--request a room that does not have a door to a connecting room and also a second or third floor room. I also use the AC/heating unit as quiet noise and that seems to work well. You will love POFQ!!

Where is that picture of Walt and Mickey? The one under your signature.
