The price difference is about $400. It will be me, DH, DS (15), DS (11), and my mom (68). I was thinking the smaller size of POFQ might be better for mom. But, am I understanding that there will be refurbishments coming up? We are looking at April 2018.

The pool at FQ looks a little lame, but we just got back from BC, so I'm sure nothing will compare in my kids' eyes! The Pop food court seems a bit better, but I know it can be crazy.

We have stayed at Pop, but never FQ, only PORS.

I think the two resorts have very different vibes. FQ is very chill and relaxed, while POP is busy and chaotic. Pool-wise FQ has a slide, while POP does not. Personally I would choose FQ, but we are an adult couple. POP might be more fun and exciting for the kids.

POFQ is a very relaxed resort which suited DH and I on our own and my DD and family as a break from the business of our days in the parks. It's not for you if you're looking for a busy entertainment resort for your teenager.

I just don't care for the value resorts after staying at a mod. POFQ is relaxing, shady, and beautiful. I also prefer the slightly bigger rooms at FQ.

While we do like POP...........FQ is smaller and quaint.....the room size is comparable. Unfortunately you have a capacity issue...........5 in those rooms doesn't work..........

Should have clarified, we will have 2 rooms. I love my mom, and she loves us, but we would all feel one room is a little too close for comfort.

I have stayed at both.

POFQ pool is very "lame" and designed for young children (one reason we didn't stay there with our kids, they had no interest and they saw it in person) so I wouldn't use pools to compare the two. POP does have three pools; POFQ has a small slide and small hot tub.

POFQ is great for older folks, folks who love quiet and small children (quiet plus all the pool, splash pad area). We felt is was boring and minus the full amenities (you have to go to POR) it didn't offer anything more than a value ... so why pay the difference.

I would book POR without blinking. Just depends what each family/guest wants for their own lodging space. Decide which hotel meets your expectations and if the rate is acceptable.

For only $400 difference I would do it.
The resort is very easy to maneuver. You can use the pool ar Riverside also. The food court is good-beignets are good.
There is always the option of Riverside food court and restaurant. Their gift shop is better also.
The boat to DS is great. The bus stop at POFQ is one of my favorites.

I love POFQ and would not hesitate to stay there again.

I love the Pop, but I would pick FQ. It has the boat to Disney Springs, just a beautiful ride. And guests at FQ can use the big pool at Riverside. There is a walking path to Riverside

Here is a video of FQ from my favorite vlogger posted 8/24.

Have a great time!

I was thinking in your situation; por would be my first choice of resort also-as stated previously by hopper. :flower::flower:

I have a funny story-
For dmil first trip to wdw (84) I booked a 2 bed villa at okw for the very same reasons...
Upon arrival -our necessary handicap accessible room stipulated at booking and several times before arrival; was not accessible & not in the blocks with lifts.

Many, many hours later we were given a studio for overnight with the situation not resolved-but we had somewhere to sleep.
I saw things I'll never forget!!!

In the morning; dmil said tell them you need your privacy also and started to discuss us needing a door and our own bedroom-dh couldn't get out the studio quick enough 8-):P:D:oops:
