We have a trip planned for December. We are trying to decide whether we want to stay at the POP or POFQ. Just wondering which one has the best food court? That will be the determining factor for us! lol Thanks!

We've stayed at Pop and POR (not FQ)...for us, we prefer POR..LOVE the make your own pasta dish!!! We're staying at CBR in a couple of weeks and my hubby asked me if we can go over to POR for the pasta

Pop has a great foodcourt.... but it is usually packed... long lines ugh. I'd take POFQ over POP just for the lack of craziness alone. Pop is just too crazy and chaotic for me.:scared1:

Hi
We like Pop better than POFQ. Pop had a lot more to choose from. It did seem a lot busier, but it's probably because Pop is a bigger resort.

I found the lines at POFQ to be just as long as at POP if not longer. But POP has more lines. POP has many more food choices than POFQ. One great thing about the FQ food court is that it is not far from the one at POR. I like POFQ as a resort but when it comes to food courts - bigger is better and POR and POP are both bigger.

For food courts, I would choose POP, for rooms and resort, I would choose POR.

Pop. Pop EVERY time.

I have stayed at both Pop and POFQ. I love the Pop food court, although it is true that it does get busy, but the queues are the same anywhere you go. I waited in line longer at POFQ than at Pop many times!

Be aware of the difference between POFQ and POR - the foodcourt at POFQ is small and has less choice than POR or Pop.

Riverside has a make your own pasta bar that people really enjoy but this is not there at French Quarter. FQ does have beignets, but I was a bit disappointed by how greasy they were. Also be aware that FQ seems to have its own recipe for standard stuff - FQ pizzas are not the same ones you get elsewhere on property eg in Pop, pizza planet and every other counter service I can think of! The dough and sauce are different (and to my taste, not as good). Other things were subtly different, which may be to your taste or may not be. I was hugely disappointed in the food court at POFQ.

At FQ I missed having chocolate croissants to eat at breakfast that I can get at Pop, and found the whole baked goods very limited at POFQ. I also prefer the wider range of choices that you get at Pop.

Pop has better baked section (pastries, cakes, cookies), better chilled section (salads, fruits etc) and a wider selection of hot dishes (flatbreads, asian noodles, pastas etc).

I agree with the pp who said POFQ has the better rooms, Pop the better food court. To give you an idea of how I feel having been to both, this December we are going to Pop again :hippie:

Hope this helps your decision!

We have eaten at both POR and POP foodcourts, not FQ. I will say that the food court, IMO, at POR was much better than POP. We absolutely loved the build your own pasta and salad stations at POR. In fact, on our 2008 trip, we ate CS everyday at our resort. During our Jan trip, we really missed it! In fact, we did drive over one day to eat lunch there.

I second that! We love Pop!!:woohoo::woohoo::banana:

POFQ is a million times better for food court and resort!

We stayed there in June 09 and ate many meals there, all excellent and last Nov 09 we stayed just one night at POP and had 2 meals there and they both wound up in the trash, so gross!

If you look at my signature, you'll see we've stayed multiple times at both Pop and POFQ. We love both resorts. We do eat a lot of meals at our resort so the food court is important to us. I have to say that Pop just can't be beat for food courts. There is just so much variety including options that aren't standard food court fare (that mediterranian flatbread is SOOOO yummy as is the greek salad). We do enjoy the food at POFQ but it would be nice to find a vegetable option (I don't consider the shredded lettuce in the taco salad to be a vegetable option). At least at POFQ you can easily hop on the boat or walk to POR (I'm a huge fan of the make your own salad) plus you also have the option of taking the boat to DTD.

We let the current deals decide which resort we'll stay at. This past June we had a PIN code for free QSDP at any level of resort so we stayed at Pop. In August we were there with the regular free dining deal where at the values it was QSDP and at moderates it was basic DDP and when I did the math it was less than $200 extra to stay at POFQ than Pop once we paid to upgrade to the basic DDP at Pop.

We also love the Pop food court. I think the only time I found it way too crowded is the morning rush but if you are up early or wait a bit later it's not that bad. I love the convenience of the food courts.

Now that we are in DVC we usually stay at AKV Kidani and I sooo miss having the food court. A few times we've driven over to Pop just to go to the food court, lol

I haven't been to Pop, but I could make a case for POFQ having the worst food court anywhere on Disney property.

I'd stay there again in a heartbeat, but the food court would be the only thing that would make me hesitate. The food quality was fine, but service was abominable and selection was measly. My last day it took 25 minutes to get a veggie burger and fries at 1:00 pm ... no lines, just slow service.

We enjoyed both resorts. It's a matter of your individual tastes. The food choices are different, but the quality is the same. We did find the Pop Food Court to be more crowded than French Quarter.

For food courts, I would choose POP, for rooms and resort, I would choose POR.

agree

we've stopped @ POP's food court for late lunch a few times when staying elsewhere onsite before heading back to our resort after visiting typhoon lagoon, they have good selection & the guest flow is great. Sometimes we even get it 'to go'.

PORFQ is a beautiful resort:cloud9:. Must say Im not a big fan of the food court for several reasons:

* decor (especially the hanging masks)

* checkout lines tended to back up moreso than any other resort we've experienced

* dinner offerings rather limited &

* the beneits aren't really authentic, but they are close enough to get the flavour & I guess that's what they're trying to achieve overall. I'd certainly book PORFQ again, just feel there is room for improvement in the food court.:thumbsup2

IMO, Riverside had better foodcourt dinner offerings & it was nice to visit during our last stay & grab dinner one night...seemed less crowded as many were hanging near the lounge for the show
