Does anyone else read/write poetry here?
I like writing it more than reading it, although good poem-format books are any book by Ellen Hopkins (ie Crank, Burned, etc)
But here's my latest...
"Fallen Angel, Fallen Friend"
You sit in front of me
And you smile so bright
We laugh, we talk
Then time is up until next week
Goodbye my fallen angel
My fallen friend
Years pass by
And still we are friends
Though separated at times
You're still here
I stil see you
Goodbye my fallen angel
My fallen friend
I see you in the bright glow
The sounds of the studio
The bass from the studio
Pounding, pounding
The clock is ticking
Goodbye my fallen angel
My fallen friend
You walk into the room
Smile on your face
"Hi!" you say to me
Excited reading on your face
And the clock ticks on
Goodbye my fallen angel
My fallen friend
Costumes, rehersals, recitals
Made up steps
Outstanding awards
Endless energy onstage
Prancing, bouncing, stepping
Goodbye my fallen angel
My fallen friend
The ticking comes to an end
And we must part
Saying our final goodbyes
Who knows when we'll meet again?
Months, years, days?
It hurts to say goodbye to someone you love
(so) Goodbye my fallen angel
My fallen friend
Samantha Marie Armenti
a.k.a.
♥Sam, my dance BFF♥
Added verse:
The worst part
Now that you're gone
Is something that I needed to say for so long
I never got to tell you
"I ♥ you"
Goodbye my fallen angel
My fallen friend
It sucks, but it got across what I was feeling when I wrote it...
