Podcast 4.0 Fantasy 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise 12/8/2012

I have read through all of the notes on this board but still have a few questions? There was no talk about podcast with our last cruise so what exactly is the difference. It looks like there are extra meet and greats but how did the podcast come about or who started it?

podcast - that's a long story. In short, its a weekly podcast about any/all things Disney. There are those of us that need our regular podcast fix or we get cranky.
Podcast cruise - They'll have special guests, freebies, etc. Not to mention all the 'unofficial' events [many of which you can do even if you're not part of PCC group]

I'm sure it won't be for a while yet. There is still PCC 3.0 for the organizers to get through. I'd expect to hear more sometime around September.

It's sure gonna be hard waiting that long!

DU sponsors some cruises....it started a couple of years ago. This cruise in December is the 4th one...ie: PCC 4.0. If you book through DU, then you get in on the events that they sponsor...it could be a number of things......on PCC 2.0 for example, they had a speaker series with Former Disney castmembers (Bob Gurr, Charlie Ridgeway)...they had a concert with Jodi Benson (the voice of Ariel), a special luncheon on Castaway Cay, they left a gift package in our cabins.....each cruise they do something different.

They put out a weekly podcast that you can download and listen to. There's also a special podcast that you can listen to to get to know the team and find out who they are....(wonderful people)...there are numerous threads on Pod Cast Cruises also.

Check out the thread on the DIS Unplugged.....you will find all the info you need there...enjoy !!!

G'day! Very excited to be joining you all on this special cruise! This will be our 4th disney cruise, and to be honest, until I read this thread, I had no idea what a podcast cruise was We can hardly wait and are already counting down! My son (12) and I will likely be the only ones travelling.... my other half is not a huge disney fan, but I'm working hard to convert!!

Look forward to meeting everyone.. and we would LOVE to get in on the FE and learn more about the podcast!

Thanks Steven. Yes, that was my first post. My mom told me about this site and I'm excited to get involved and get to know people before December. Right now, my hands are often full holding our newborn, but I hope to get on here more in the future In order to help me get those 10 posts so we can sign up for FE, I'll answer those questions in different post

I've been on three other cruises with my family, though my last one was about 11 years ago. We did Royal Caribean and Carnival, all down to Mexico. This will be my husband's 1st cruise.

My parents grew up about 20 minutes from Disneyland in Long Beach, CA. So Disneyland is an important part of my family's life I can't count how many times I've been! My husband has been to Disney World, but that was a long time ago.

Oh yes, indeed! Order the DCL DVD We've been on 5 DCL cruises (with 4 more scheduled + 1 dummy date) and our daughter who will be 5 next month loves to watch it!!! In fact, we got home from the Dream on Sunday and in the pile of mail waiting for us was the 2012 DCL DVD!!! We had just got off the cruise ship and our evening entertainment was the new DCL DVD!!! Silly goose

Has your daughter gone to the kids clubs on your other cruises? If so, did she enjoy it? They look really fun.

She has, but we aren't the type that put her in there for most of the cruise - however, she would much prefer it

She has been in the Wonder, Magic, and Dream's kids clubs. She likes them all, but different parts of each. She likes that she can dress up in princess dresses (all ships), and the big slide (Magic & Wonder), and on the Dream, the Magic floor, Pixie Hollow and believe it or not, the HANDWASH STATIONS. (They are neat!!)

Lots of fun!!
