I am still amazed that I was told that I couldn't book this on board to be a part of the group. Oh well!

Technically, you can book the cruise via DCL or ANY T/A. However, in order to be able to participate in the special podCast events, you have to book the cruise through Dreams Unlimited. You can do that in two ways ...

1) Book through Dreams Unlimited directly
2) Book on any DCL cruise ship, listing Dreams Unlimited as your T/A

If you booked the cruise through any other T/A, you are still on the cruise (and this thread), but you will not be able to participate in the DU special events.

If you booked the cruise while on a DCL ship, and did not list Dream Unlimited at your T/A, you are still on the cruise (and this thread), but you will not be able to participate in the DU special events.

... which explains why you were able to book the cruise (and special events). Like I said, if you booked on DCL (without DU), you would be able to sail on the cruise, but not participate in the podCast events. That's probably why someone was saying you could not book it on DCL (which was not totally correct).

I booked through DCL - transferred a dummy cruise. Can I switch it to DU in order to get in on the podcast things? Would I lose my OBC and OBB discount? Finally, still not 100% we are going on the cruise (still working on convincing my husband), so if I have to cancel and I have booked through DU can I still do that (before final payment, of course)?

BTW, I changed my room to a 5E and they said they only had GTY left. I'm kind of nervous because some of the rooms look great, and some don't look so great. Anyone else done one of these before?

Val & I (Jeff) will also be on this cruise. We're booked as part of the DIS Unplugged group and are looking forward to seeing old friends on board as well as meeting new ones.

And we will happily associate with those that aren't part of the group.

I would defer you to DU, however, it is my understanding, if you originally booked your dummy cruise through DCL, and did not initially list DU as your T/A, you would not qualify for the podCast specific activities. DCL would consider your particular situation as a TRANSFER, and as such, there are a few glitches in the works (for DU).

That being said, I would suggest you contact DU directly ... they should be able to provide the most accurate answer. In the event you do not qualify for the podCast events, you have two options:
1) Continue with the cruise as planned ... have fun as you would, on a typical DCL cruise
2) Book a replacement cruise through DU, then postpone your existing cruise (treat it as a dummy cruise)

You will not loose your SBC or 10% discount for (what was once) your dummy cruise.

Hello everyone!

We our counting down to our 1st WDW trip and 1st Disney cruise! We are super excited! We will be celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary while on the ship. We will be traveling with our two children. DD is 4 now, but will be 5 on the trip, and DS is 3 weeks old right now. My parents will be with us as well (they took my siblings on the Dream last month, but I was too pregnant so it's our turn now).

SO excited for the trip and looking forward to learning lots from those of you that have been there, done that!

It was my first DISapalooza event ... Yvette and Emiel introduced me to hoards of people. I have an insufficient short term memory ... so I'd have to defer that answer to my wife.

That would enable us to fly Friday evening ... not worry about luggage ... shuttles, etc. Anyone else thinking along the same lines?

We will probably be living in the Orlando area by the time this cruise rolls around so it won't be an issue. However, if we haven't moved yet we would most likely wait to see what Dreams negotiates for rates at the Swolphin. They had some good prices there for PCC 1.0 & 2.0. and they also offered transportation at a good rate to/from there. I'm hoping they do something for PCC 3.0 as well.

We are thinking about the same thing, or just flying in on Saturday morning....however, (and this is hard to say)..we might not be able to go at all. We have been hit hard with financial issues in the past year and the money might not be there. I have to set up a meeting with the rest of the family and talk about it. In the worst case, we would have to move our cruise to another PCC next year...it breaks my heart, but it's just a fact of life. We still have time to see if we can make it work.....we'll see.

I feel for you, Cheri. We limit ourselves to vacations within FL because if we add in airfare, it world be really difficult for us & we wouldn't travel as often. That is why we didn't book a DCL Alaskan cruise next year - airfare, pre-cruise hotel, and pricey excursions. It is just easy for us to drive to Port Canaveral AM of the cruise & just pay for the cruise, parking, and gas.
