Podcast 4.0 Fantasy 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise 12/8/2012

Today we received our room assignment (at 50 day mark). DCL gave me an early birthday present (we set sail on my 50th birthday) with some pixiedust:! Bumped up from an 8C GTY to a 5A. Woo hoo!!! :cool1:

Good luck to all awaiting your cabin number...hopefully the pixiedust will be spread upon you as well!

Woooohoooo we got ours too. From a 9D to 5b!! Yippeee!!!

Glad they are starting to assign cabin #.

A bit of self-promotion...If you want to show off your room, [or just want to look at different rooms] we are having a cabin crawl. If you want to show off your room, send me a PM. You do not have to be booked thru DU to participate.

- depending on Podcast schedule.. Tentatively, I'm thinking 11:00, Dec 9, 1st Sea Day. Location - TBA.
I will have a printed list of cabin #s, and suggested order. We'll meet at one location, and head out from there. The crawl should take an hour - max. Those who have volunteered to show their cabin either need to be at head of the pack, so they can unlock their cabin, or have someone who can be at the cabin. Some have volunteered to have snacks available at their cabin, but that is entirely optional.

I'm definitely interested in this! :thumbsup2

I see a lovely family *ahem* has the cabin I will likely book for our family Fantasy cruise - 8188  I know Emily is a big supporter of the aft verandas and we are too! :goodvibes We loved 6188 on our first Dream cruise but would love the even bigger verandah! ;)

Can you briefly explain how it works? I get the premise that it's show and tell for cabins but will we do them at a certain time like its pre scheduled? I know you mentioned it will be on the first sea day.

Thanks in advance,
Heather :)

Ps. Congrats to all those getting assignments and pixie dust!! :cheer2:

Congratulations to those who were upgraded from an oceanview to a verandah! I checked my reservation, and my friend and I are still in our 11C.

Got our GTY assigned today too. No upgrade stayed a 9B. 2520 I was so hoping for big time upgrade. Oh well, I am still going on a Disney Cruise so things could be worse.

Hmm...if you were assigned Stateroom 10006, that's a 5A as well...congrats!

Oh my you're right!!! It said on the Disney site 9c...must be because that is what we paid for. Oh, I'm soooooooo excited now!!!!!!!!!!:yay:

Happy dance!

Hello everyone -

I just booked this cruise tonight :yay::yay::yay:

Actually, I booked this cruise several months ago - a 5E aft verandah gty - and began following this board, but I knew it wasn't a sure thing I was going to go. Then a couple months ago I decided to go on the 9/16 Pixar California Cruise instead. (That was fantastic BTW! - wow, just realized, I've been back less than a month, OMG what is wrong with me I can't believed I just booked again!!!)

Okay, anyway, back to this cruise. At first I just downgraded my room to an interior, but eventually I cancelled altogether, deciding I couldn't justify the cost of 2 DCL cruises 3 months apart. But I kept checking out the prices of this cruise and then the IGT came along! Even though I had originally booked with the 10% OBC, the IGT was over 20% less than the interior room rate I had previously booked. I couldn't believe it, it was such a good deal, and my kids really want to go on the Fantasy, so I went ahead and booked tonight!! :cool1:

I am not doing the podcast thing, unfortunately. Apparently DU only books online and I just didn't want to spend the time figuring it out myself -- I had a balance with DCL for an OBC cruise I had booked for next year that I needed to transfer. And I was really worried the IGT rate would disappear ANY MINUTE. The Dec. 1 cruise had IGTs earlier today but now they only have OGTs.

I will be traveling with my DM 79, DS 8 and DS 5. This will be our 3rd DCL, having just done the California Coastal on the Wonder and the WBTA last year on the Magic. It will be our first time in an inside cabins, which my boys have told me they want to do because of the magic porthole. I AM NOT TELLING MY SONS!! I am going to give this to them as a Christmas present, and I'm going to wait until right before the cruise. We had planned to go to FL and CC anyway to go to the Space Center, so we'll just head over to the cruise ship and get on board. :dance3:

Is the FE already closed? I really, really, want to do the FE, my kids love it and it is so unique to a DCL cruise. If it is closed, maybe there are some other latecomers and we can start a mini-FE??

I also just saw a post about a cabin crawl, I've done those on both of my last 2 cruises and it was a blast - we only had 3 participants on the last cruise, but one of them was in the Roy Disney suite, so got to see that and it was really cool. I would like to sign up for the crawl if there is someone who needs to know in advance....

SOOOOO excited!!!! Please let me know if anyone else on here is traveling with kids around the same age, I'm a little concerned there won't be many kids that time of year.

Okay, sorry if TMI, but just so psyched!!

Lol Heather!!! We do love & adore our Aft verandahs :) This is our go to room (8188 ) when available. We have it on the Fantasy in March & then have our TA trying to get it in 2014 for 2 dates as well ;) DH says we should drop out of the stateroom crawl so no one sees our verandah because then the secret will be out!!!

In past cruises, we've allowed latecomers with the understanding that not everyone will give to them. I have no problem adding more people after the cut off date, but I know some people do.

In any case, we'll happily deliver to you. PM ssanders79 with your info & he can add you to the list as a latecomer. I know if we booked last minute & DD wasn't able to be in the FE, she'd be devastated!!

I don't mind a few latecomers for FE. As long as there's not more than a handful of them.

Hee hee  I seriously understand the wanting to keep it secret! We are pretty confident about booking this cabin in the future and we would have, had it been open 14 months out when we booked 6188. The 12/9 Dream sailing actually had several 5E's available and main dining still - wow! It wasn't available when we booked the 12/8 sailing - and I guess that's good :lmao:
Just wanted to say Hello. We just booked this cruise on short notice.
Awesome! Welcome

My Mom and I are actually doing a little shopping today to get some things for the trip - like more Disney gift cards, an outfit or two so that should be fun. I'm so exited to treat my Mom and see her grinning ear to ear and just taken care of all week! BUT I have a surprise trip to WDW in less than 2 weeks now and since it's a surprise, I've suppressed it (so my DS doesn't find out) so I need to get that one in gear! :cool1:

FE - send ssanders a PM. I don't mind getting FE gifts for [from] a few more people.

Cabin crawl - If you just want to see different cabins, I'm making a few extra copies of list. If you are volunteering your cabin, send me a PM, so I can include it. Roy Disney Suite - cool.

Oh - :welcome:
