We are planning a trip to the World in early December (DM and me). We have narrowed it down to staying on-site at either the POP (which we have booked with the AP rate) or POFQ or PO Riverside.

This will be a quick weekend trip and the highest priority for us is a quiet/restful place after shopping our toes off and convenience to DTD and Boardwalk areas.

BTW - We loved WL but allas it is not available during our trip.

Which resort is better??? Is there a different one I am missing that would be in a better location???

Thank you for the help!!!

we stayed at pop last time and it was not quiet...it was booked to capacity and we were impressed on the lack of obvious crowds ( the pool was never overly crowded and not tons of people milling around or cramming the buses, really only felt like a packed sardine one night in the food court) but there were lots of families with tiny kids which meant a lot of running up and down outside the room and slamming doors ( hey they were at wdw & so excited who can blame them:) !) while it was nice to try ,us old codgers decided we wouldn't stay there again . there was not a lot of in room noise however even with the adjoining room door (Vero beach was lots noisier in that respect) just lots and lots and lots of outdoor noise filtering in from the walk and hallway

I haven't stayed at POP but POFQ is so peaceful & pretty with the New Orleans theme. Plus we loved the relaxing boat ride back & forth between DTD. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!

How long did the boat ride take??

The "official site" showed it as a 30minute river cruise. We are short on time so we are looking for quick transportation when possible.

I've stayed at both, and while I personally like Pop better that PO (I think Pop feels more Disney), based on what you're looking for, PO would be the best for you. It is sure to be more quiet than Pop and is closer to DTD. The boat ride is 20 to 30 minutes, but the busride is less than 10. You shouldn't have any problem there. PO is the closest moderate to DTD, so that would be my choice.

I know they say 30mins. but I don't think it was quite that long. I think it depends on whether it has stopped at POR yet or not. Keep in mind if you go by bus, you stop at every POR bus stop before heading to DTD and it is not much shorter. Of course if you are driving, DTD is not far at all. If you want to walk, SSR now has a walk-way directly to DTD.

Hi,
We stayed at both Pop and PO-Riverside on our last trip in May. We definitley enjoyed the PO-Riverside much more, it was way more quiet we never once heard our neighbors on either side and the grounds were peaceful and pretty. Moving over to POP century was a shock to the system, it was very loud, we could hear everything the neighbors were saying and doing and we were close to the pools which didnt help. Hope the info helps.
