Still at work here. At least it finally has slowed down. I just got off lunch and now I get to sit around until 10:30. Of course I've been here since 6am, so it's some great OT. That and I'm back in at 6am tomorrow, so I get turnaround pay

Back from dinner. Made yummy pancakes. Of course, with the last little bits of batter I made a mickey head pancake. It made me feel better!

Latest update on my Mom. She is still in the nursing home. They have decided she has chronic pneumonia, but don't know why she isn't getting better. Thye drained almost 2 liters of fluid from her lungs the other day, this is in addition to the 100 cc's and 600 cc's previously drained. She's hoping maybe by the end of the week she can go home. The pulmonoligst is worried that she's not going to have the strength to be at home. She is having PT, but I'm not sure how often.

I hope she makes it home next week.

DH wants to watch Pirates. Guess he wants some nookie later.

Pirates = nookie? That's it, I'm hiding the eye patches.

Ben is so sweet. He just came upstairs and gave DH and me a hug for allowing and helping with the party.

Ah, he must get that from my side.

He was 17yo on Tuesday and Zach was 14yo yesterday. Jake will turn 8yo 12/19 and Alyssa will turn 20yo 5 days later, my Christmas Eve baby.

So.....January and March are your busy times?

I have a confession to make I can't count back change that way. I was taught, I totally get the concept. But my brain just can't wrap itself around it. I get confused and lost and then my mouth gapes open and I start to drool. Simple things I can do, if it is just quarters and dollars. But anything else and I am just . I have practiced by myself, and in my head at the store, and my brain just isn't wired for that.

It is really embarrassing. I make jokes and excuses when people want me to take money at the concession stands or garage sales etc.... so I don't have to do it. Hell, when I worked concessions at the Swim Meet last year I was the one with the GREAT idea that we should designate one person (not it!) as the money taker and the rest of us just serve food--we still do it that way now! They all thought I was an organizational genius. NOPE! Just a math idiot trying to hide my math illiteracy.

Like I said, I understand the concept, I see how it works, I just can't do it. I get lost and confused. Me and numbers are never a good combination to begin with. The difference between me and that girl at your work is that I KNOW I shouldn't be working with money so I avoid it all costs! (pun intended!)

Will you still love me Paige? I can add the extra 30 cents up in my head. Just don't ask me to count back the change for you if you pay with a $50.00 bill.

But I do have to ask.....does it confuse you if someone gives you a penny so that they don't get 99 cents back?
THAT drives me nuts. I don't know why

Busy day in my house, but I decided to declare a time out and made my family go to the playground for an hour and a half for some quality time. It was worth getting behind on the chores. We need to do that more often.
