She can READ them, she just can't spell them. memorization is not her strong suit. And especially with the fact that all the other words are following a "rule" so she can't remember that one on the list won't. I think I just won't sweat her spelling grade. Hopefully Harvard won't look at her 2nd grade spelling scores

Well, I know, but some folks figure the best way to get them to read them is to get them to spell them. Which isn't true, but that's what they do. No I doubt if Harvard cares. However, do you really want her in Harvard? You know a lot of Harvard grads aren't even that bright, they just know someone who graduated there or their family has donated a lot of money. There are way better schools out there that really look at actual merit, not namesake.

The Harvard thing was a joke. It is the joke in our house when DD1 is stressing about her grades.
