Teo's going to make sure I'm in the loop, got to meet her, btw, and she is NOT an axe murderer.
So, took us an hour to leave La Quinta parking lot yesterday. Why you ask? Well, I'll tell you. Shut up, I'm telling you anyway.

My van was FULL of ants!

That's right, like a whole moving ant mound. They were in the van, on the floors and the seats, everywhere. So we had to take everything out and shake it out, and then I left the kids with the stuff and drove with both feet on the pedals (didn't want any ants on me!) down the hill to a
Walmart and got ant spray. Took the kids in to let them watch TV in the lobby and told the front desk clerk. Her response, while still typing away on the computer........"they must be looking for something to eat". I told her "I have NEVER had ants INSIDE my car. And I have camped in the woods before, where they have nothing to eat." She asked if we had food in the car, and I said just crumbs from the kids. I told her their exterminator was not treating the grounds, and she said, "Well there are no ants in the hotel". This is all while looking at her computer screen. Unbelievable. So I asked her for her corporate number and she said, "Right there are the business cards."
I went out and sprayed the van, loaded all the stuff back up, left it open to air out, came back in, and having noticed that was only their local card approached the desk again, but now she was busy with someone else. Another lady in a dressier blouse instead of the uniform shirt was at the desk. I think she must have been the manager. I approached her and asked her to write the corporate number on the card. She did, and said it was the reservations number, but that if I would tell them my problem that they'd get me to the right person, so I told her what the problem was, and I said I had tried to tell the other girl and got no satisfactory response. She said she was very sorry that had happened, and very sorry about the ants and she'd talk to the exterminator. I said "It would have been nice if SHE would have said that" and by now that girl was done with her customer and back on the computer, doing whatever was so important, and turned red. So the other lady said again she was sorry and I said "thank you" and we finally left. With little ant carcasses all over the car.
And then there was construction all the way home. Bleh. Oh and by the way, there was an apple with a couple bites out of it, just feet from my car, and the ants were NOT eating that.
