so much for the special christmas i had envisioned. first dd10 got sick (vomiting) on the 23rd (lasted through the night) so we canceled diner at my parent's the 24th. then i spent the wee hours of christmas eve in the e.r. getting stitches in my leg from a vericose vein that bled out of nowhere and wouldn't stop. i felt horrible because i had to leave dd home sick with ds and ds's gf while i spent 4hrs in the e.r. then i got dd's stomach virus and spent all night and half of christmas day sick and vomiting. it hit me in the middle of trying to get all the kids gifts wrapped. i only had a handful of things wrapped when i just had to stop. ds and his gf came home about 1:30 am and finished everything for me!!! thank goodness for them!!
i must say that i think this was the worst christmas i've ever had. certainly not what i had planned, but not the end of the world either! hopefully nobody else will catch the bug, i really want to go to my parents for leftovers tomorrow if my stomach will let me!!!!

First, Congrats on your new Grand daughter! She's the cutest little thing!! Second....we had a Christmas like that, a few years ago, so we postponed it to New Years Day! LOL! Hope you feel better!

ok everyone who is interested.....here's my update!

my granddaughter was born in august. she was 6 weeks early and only weighed 4lb 15oz. she stayed in the nicu for 1 week and is perfectly....PERFECT!!! mom and dad are doing great as well. they are young so they have had to learn a lot, but i will say that i'm very proud of both of them! it has been a HUGE adjustment for them.
me, ds, and my sister were at the delivery. it was in the middle of the night and went lightning fast! her family didn't even know that she had left the house while they were sleeping. her mom woke up to get ready for work and had 2 messages on her phone from me telling her where we were and that the baby was born. she was not very happy. her own fault though.....
i still have nothing good to say about her family, unfortunately.

the baby's name is Aaliyah Marie. she is beautiful, isn't she??!!!!

i want to share a little something with you all. we went to visit my parents today, which we usually do every couple days. my family is VERY close.....
well anyways, yolanda (baby's mom) noticed that she and Aaliyah both have stockings hanging on the mantle, along with my other kids and my sisters kids. each of my parents' 5 grandkids (well, now 7!) has one with their name on it at their house. so my dad told her how he ordered them because he had to have them for his 2 new granddaughters. she is so unaccustomed to things like that. she cried......and then i cried. she is really seeing how a true, loving family acts. i think we are the complete opposite of the family she had. i really do love this girl!!!

MizTink, Congratulations on the new beautiful DGD!! She has beautiful eyes!! My new DGS was born in July and they live with us too (teen DD18 and DGS, while DD's BF lives with his grandparents). I was on vacation the week before Christmas and it was like yours! DD got food poisoning, DGS had the croup, DH got a cold/sinus issue, and I was exhausted from taking care of them all! We still pulled off Christmas for the crew, but man, was it hard!!
