Great, another boy band. Thats just what we need. Not only are they trying to take advantage of the dying boy band fad, but theyre trying to take advantage of the Christian rock fad, which was started by GOOD and REAL bands such as Creed and P.O.D.

Juvi, I don't know what you are talking about. For one thing, I bet this band has the same purpose as the other christian bands. Since they are a boy band though, they are probably targeting teenage girls.

Yes, I do know what Im talking about. I take classes in music production, which is alot different from reading about the latest cute-alicious boys in Teen People. The music business works in waves, where something becomes popular by a 1st musician(backstreet boys/nysync), gets capitalized on by other get-rich-quick groups and their managers(98 degrees, 5ive, the ABC making of the band, etc.), then it MAY get parodied extensively(2gether), before it finally dies out. The dying out phase is rapidly approaching for this genre(don't believe me? Compare record sales), but in another 5-10 yrs they'll be a new boy band and the cycle will start again.
If you dont believe me, look at Latin music, same story, a few innovators(Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez), followed by get-rich-quick groups(Baha Men...ugh), and it will soon die out.
Rap Music has had a few of these. Late 80s with Run DMC, Funkmaster Flex, and MC Hammer. Then Vanilla Ice and Sir Mixalot. It came again with Snoop Dogg, the NWA, and Dr. Dre. Then came Easy E and Ice T and the like. Right now we're at a Rap peak, but it will soon end. The sooner the better, Ive had enough of the word bling-bling.
So in conclusion, Im right and youre wrong.

Fine you can be right, musically speaking, but what I'm concerned about is if they are teaching teenagers to come to Christ. I only listen to Christian music, with a small exception.

I've read a lot of things about Plus One and by Plus One and what they are trying to do is provide an alternative to secular music for teenage girls. This way the teenage girls have a Christian band that has a style that they like so just leave them aloone!!!!

Plus One's goal as a group was to:
First they wanted to get on their feet as a group in the Christain music world
Then their goal is to reach the secular music world for Christ. they produce some songs that are not Christain but are also not dirty, they do that so they will get the secular world listening to their message. Their motives are purely for Christ. And besides, they are not rich. Last I have heard, they are living in a 3-bedroom apartment-which is actually smaller than many peoples houses (mine also, and we are not rich and we only have 4 people living here) and their 1st apartment was a 1bedroom place where one of the members had to sleep in a walk-in closet. They have never claimed to be a "real" band. They have been labeled a "boyband". They are not like N'Stink (excuse my people who like them, this is just my name for them). They love Christ and always will. Thank you for reading and I hope you will take this into consideration.

My reply to this is I don't pay attention to the craze. I listen to what I like to listen to. That is mostly christian like Plus one, Supertones, Newsboys, Raze and others like that. I also listen to *N SYNC.

I like plus one, I have their c.d. ya know, alot of people try to act like they are "copying" the other boy bands such as nsync. but "who cares!" sure they might have the same sound to them but they are singing about God! that in itself makes them better than any other boy group out there. and they sound good. i say if God gives you a talent, like he gave these guys, then use it to glorify God and that is exactly what they are doing. Bravo to them!
