Plunging elevators, runaway trains, speeding cars,+Haunted Mansions! April 2012

Ok Pam....you know we are all DYING to see a pic of Manny on the bike!!!! :lmao:

I actually don't have one. I was preoccupied with yelling at him to stop fooling around. And since he almost fell he hasn't got back on it yet. I do have a pic of my brother on it though.

If Manny ever gets back on it, i'll be ready!

I LOVE that pic of you and all 4 kids!!! :lovestruc

I really like it too! Everyone's looking and smiling! Rare!

So we were thinking about it for our last trip and said we wanted to do it one day. And seeing how Emily and Anthony really DO NOT like to fly, we should try it out for our next trip. I believe we are going to take the train to Disney. Our dates are not out yet but should be by next month it looks like. Basically anything priced far in advance is coming out to $945 with our AAA discount. THATS GREAT! We'll have to pay for a taxi or something to bring us to and from Disney but if we fly Manny will get a limo to take us to the airport (It's just something he always HAS to do when we fly) So we'll probably spend less on the taxi there and back so i'm not even counting that as an extra expense. Not that it really has too much to do with the money anyway because for food snacks and drinks on the train we may even spend more. We really want that experience. I've been looking at pics of the dining car for lunch and dinner. And just to think of what we'll see on the way down. Pretty neat! I'll be able to book that over the summer if we definitely decide on it. A part of Manny wants to do it but another part of him just wants to get on the plane and get there. Me too of course so we'll see. We have time to think about it. It just seems like an adventure in itself on the way there AND back! I think the kids would look forward to going back on the train at the end of the trip instead of just jumping on a plane and getting home. We'll see!

Wow....a train trip down sounds really cool. I've never been on a high-speed train before, so I have no clue what that's like. How many hours will it take you to get there by train or is it like an overnight thing? :confused3

We're taking the train on our trip to Chicago this summer and I'm so excited about it! :goodvibes I think you guys will have a GREAT time.

I would totally take a train if we could! There are no trains that go straight from Missouri though, so they end up making you go up north first and it's WAY too long, so we can't. I think it would be a grand adventure! :thumbsup2

I haven't either. I've been on a train before but just a local one, but my kids have not. I think they'll LOVE it! It will take 24 hours. We would get on a train here and then switch to the overnight one in DC, which has a lounge car and a dining car for lunch and dinner. It sounds like so much fun to me.

Oh cool, you'll have to let me know how you guys like it!

Oh, yeah, that definitely would not work out! Right you'd have to go up north and then come back down...

So i've been watching youtube videos on the amtrak train and route that we would take to go to Florida. People have videos of the inside of the train and views as they go, also of different train stations that they pass. I think it would be a lot of fun. There is also a big thread on the transportation board with all types of pictures and questions. So basically everything I needed to know could be answered there. I'm pretty excited and we're definitely leaning towards that right now.

I think it would be neat to go eat lunch and dinner in the dining car. There are booths in that car and it's a restaurant, they serve you....just looks really neat to sit there and eat while you're moving!!!!

Well the kids are officially on their April Vacation! Ya know what that means.....EXACTLY 12 MONTHS UNTIL WE GO TO DISNEY WORLD. Next year on this very day we'll have gotten on the train a few hours ago...(If we do go with the train that is) And we'll be on our way to Disney!!!! Ok so it seems like quite a ways away, but we'll have it to look forward to this year. We got some fun stuff planned for our vacation week and I went out yesterday and did a little Easter Shopping. Can't believe Easter is next weekend.

I was going through my pictures and I never realized how funny this one was. I dont' think it was funny at the time, but it is now. We had just finished mini golf and for some odd reason I thought 2 or 3 oclock in the florida afternoon was a good time for that activity. We had our misting fans, so we kept wet but it was HOT. After we finished me and Manny wanted to catch the water taxi at the boardwalk cause we'd never been over there. Well the kids didn't think that was a good idea. They were pretty much heat stroked...

Look at this: Anthony's holding the cold soda bottle to his head. Emily's about to collapse at the knees. Lizzie's hair is plastered back with water and sweat. And Sams acting like a total goofball cause she doesn't know what else to do with herself. :rotfl: Well I made myself laugh for the day!!!

Oh what we do to our kids sometimes!!! They love me though and will always remember that vacation!!!!

Oooh, I hadn't even thought of looking for Amtrak videos on youtube! Thanks for that idea. :thumbsup2

That picture is cute- isn't it funny how the moments that are so frustrating sometimes turn out to be the funniest memories.

Yup! I've always looked at that picture and thought, that would be a great picture if everyone wasn't looking like goofballs, then the other day I looked at it and thought it was the greatest thing! They'll all laugh at that when they're older!

And yes, there were quite a few Amtrak videos!!

The train sounds fun! I've only been on a train once and it was a short trip before we had kids. I think my boys would love it! :)

Yea we've been talking about the train and the kids are really excited, they think it's gonna be the coolest! I can't wait.

So I just got off the phone with my brother and he's out Easter shopping for the kids. He just sent me a pic and said "arent these things neat" Well I haven't said anything to him about them but it was a pic of the Vinylmations. I was like "omg where are you, do they have them at the Disney store" and yes they do. He's getting the girls one for Easter. They are going to be soooo excited because we looked them up online a few weeks ago and they said they wanted one as soon as they got to Disney. They're gonna be so surprised. My brother just said, they things are so cool, i'd like to start a collection. So i'm going to go into the mall tomorrow and pick him up one for Easter. :goodvibes This is the first Disney thing he's been into so maybe we can get him so excited about it that him and his fiance (who will be his wife by then, they're getting married in October) will come with us. That will be super fun.
They also said they picked the girls up Tangled beach towels from the Disney store. They are really into Tangled right now. We got about 4 Rapunzel dolls here, Maximus and now they HAVE to have Flynn Ryder and Pasquel. Hmmmm? We'll see? Tangled actually just ended again here and woops it just started again. Lol..... It is a very cute movie.

On Monday night we went to the movies to see HOP. That movie was absolutely adorable. Adult humor as well. The girls LOVED it and are now very excited about Easter. After we watched that we went out to the mall (this was a theatre in the mall) and had our visit with the Easter Bunny himself. There is a naughty chic named Carlos in the movie and my brother and his fiance came with us. So my brother's been talking in Carlos's voice and saying he's carlos. The girls asked me last night. "is carlos coming over today" TOO FUNNY!

Its a cloudy chilly day here today. Tomorrow is going to be 60 degrees, my friend is coming over and we're walking to this lovely ice cream place right by our house. The kids are very excited to make our first trip of the season there. Then we'll be coloring our Easter Eggs tomorrow night. I'll take pictures!!

That's so cute that your brother is picking up Vinylmations for your girls-- it sounds like he and his fiancee are very close to them.
Walking to get ice cream sounds so fun-- I just love springtime! Make sure you take lots of pictures when you color the eggs!!

Oh yes, my brother is very close to my girls. Me and my brother are very very close. He's a best friend of mine, couldn't live without him. His head and back are doing good from his little incident last week. He's out of work until the end of this week. He goes back monday. He can't wait.

So while I was at work tonight Manny bought Lizzie and Sam a Power Wheels. It's a cadillac escalade. It's huge, it even has a radio in it. I will take pics of that tomorrow too. They are very excited to drive it to the ice cream parlor. I wanna drive it. It's so huge I probably could :lmao: Manny's already been in it and of course looks like a dork or a doofus or a dope.....or all 3. We did have a power wheels for them when they were younger, but it was a small one that they outgrew, they've been wanting another one. This is definitely going to last them for a while.

I'll bet Lizzie and Sam are stylin' in their Escalade! ;)

So cool about the Vinylmations. My kids haven't really showed an interest in them yet. I hope your brother starts a collection...too fun! :thumbsup2

Ok so I have some pics from yesterday! First we'll go with the main excitement of the day. The Power Wheels.

They had a lot of fun with this yesterday. I thought I uploaded Emily riding it too. She now wants one. Of course when you think of a power wheels you think babyish (in her eyes) But now that she's been driving it she wants one too. The radio in it is so awesome. We were coming in last night and they were like "oh I like this song, let me just drive it until it ends." THEY LOVE IT. It's for up to 130 pounds so technically i could get in and drive it too. I'm sure I will.

My friend came over yesterday and we did walk to get ice cream only it was quite chilly with the damn wind blowing. I didn't take any pics because the kids had hoods pulled over their faces and we looked ridiculous (or I know I did anyway. Lol) But I had the home made waffle cone filled with Pistachio ice cream. Mmmm my favorite. I want more now.

Later on we went to my brother's house and all colored Easter Eggs together. We usually do it at my house, but I figured we'd go to him this year. Here's some pics.

After we were done with our eggs and ready to go home Ricky and Jaclyn REALLY wanted to give the girls an early easter gift. So they closed their eyes and waited

And when they opened their eyes the Vinylmation boxes sat in front of them. They were so excited and couldn't wait to see what they got.

230.jpg

Apparently my brother couldn't wait until Easter (3 more days away) because they were dying to know which ones were in the boxes. HAHAHA. Lizzie got Ham Ham from Toy Story, Sam got the "have a laugh series" it was Mickey with soap suds all over him. And Emily got Sally from Nightmare before Christmas. They LOVE them. They're sitting right here with us now. I gotta get one for my brother. He wants the Villians series. On our way home we stopped at the red box and rented Megamind. The kids have been wanting to see it. It was "weird" ok, but not a favorite.

Now onto another favorite. THE POWER WHEELS BOX. It's absolutely huge. We're gonna cut out a door and windows and make it a fort. But for last night it was a bed for Lizzie and Sam.

And the pretty eggs on the table ready for the Easter Bunny to hide.

So that was our yesterday!
