Plunging elevators, runaway trains, speeding cars,+Haunted Mansions! April 2012

If you were to book now, you would only be booking a room only reservation. Unfortunately, they can't modify a room only to make it a package.

Pam, I'm so happy the dates are set for you now! I don't really know about booking a package and switching things over, hmmm. I'd call Disney and ask to get a definite answer. I've never been in April, but I think you guys will definitely get nice weather (not too hot, definitely pool weather!!). Now you just have more time to plan :-)

Yes i'm looking forward to the nice weather. Plus it will be flower and garden time and everything was just so pretty when we went last time.

Ok, that's what I figured it may be? I think I may book a room only for now anyway just to get money down and pay that part off. Then i'll change it to a package in August. Will that be an issue? Can they just roll over what i've paid onto the package or does it have to be cancelled refunded and then rebooked? Yikes?

No, I believe that even though it has to be canceled, they can just take the money and put it towards your new reservation! That's probably why some people don't even know that you have to rebook b/c it seems like you just call up and change it. Easy-peasy! That's what I would do so I could start paying!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, room only reservations and package reservations are handled through an entirely different computer system. If you book a room only now, you'll have to pay a deposit equal to one night's stay. They won't be able to transfer/roll over the money from a room only to a package. They'll have to cancel the reservation and put in a request for a refund of your deposit. Then, you'll have to book a package reservation and pay a deposit of $200.00 within 7 days from the date you book.

Thanks Karen, yup that's what i'll do then because I don't want to wait until August to book! I want it booked and partially paid for. We have our countdown calendar up so at 365 days out....we're counting down!! The girls are waiting to change a day every day.

I posted our Hollywood Studios must dos a few weeks ago and glad I found out a lot about the Backlot express and the Great Movie ride! I can't wait!

ONTO ANIMAL KINGDOM!!

Camp Minnie/Mickey to see all the characters
Festival of the Lion King (we didn't get to see this last time)
The Safari
The Pangani trail (we didn't do a trail last time)
Expedition Everest
Kail (if it's hot)
Primeval Whirl
Dinosaur (my favorite ride in this park)
Triceratops spin
The boneyard
Tought to be a bug

I believe we'll take the train over to Rafiki's planet watch again, we really liked it over there.

CS restuarants: Pizzafari, Flametree barbecue

We definitely want to catch the Jammin Jungle parade too. Looks like a lot of fun. We are parade people....we love them, so all 3 parades will be a must this time. We didn't catch any last time because of the heat. The kids always chose the pool over sitting in the baking sun for the parade. (Not sure why :confused3 We had misting fans :rotfl:)

Right...we had misting fans, it's not like I was leaving them dehydrated....:rotfl: I mean we even had drinks, lemonades, ice cream...whatever they wanted... I have a bunch of wimps here.... Oh and Manny's the worst one.:goodvibes "it's hot" "i'm sick" :sad2: (Actually if you remember from PTR I dragged Manny around a very hot Epcot the morning before he got REALLY sick with the flu. I kinda felt bad, I guess he wasn't just being his regular wimpy self. LOL

Your Animal Kingdom must do's look great!

I really hope you get to catch Festival of the Lion King this time around. In my opinion, it's the best show at Disney World!

I am such a wimp, Dinosaur intimidated me the last time I rode it. I won't say it scared me, but I'd consider myself very brave if I ever go on it again. :rotfl:

Your kids gave up ice cream for pool time?!? I don't think there's anything I'd rather do than eat ice cream and see Disney characters. Hopefully, it won't be hot out this trip, and you guys can relax and comfortably wait for the parades.

I think your AK MUST Do's are looking great! I have had several people also recommend Finding Nemo: The Musical. I have never seen it but I hear it is wonderful. I think we will try to do The Festival of the Lion King while we are there too.

Oh, I didn't see this? Hmmm, that's what I was afraid of, I could always wait to book until August, no biggie. I'll have to call and ask. Although that's always scary too cause you know how different CMs give out different answers :confused3

Yes, they just wanted that pool. I think it was 96 that day. I LOVED dinosaur, it's actually one of my favorites in all of Disney World! Can't wait to see Festival of the Lion King!

Yeah, I figured I definitely wanna catch the Lion King and if we have time we'll do the Nemo musical. Hopefully we'll get to do both.

So I haven't been on in like 3 or 4 days. I had an "interesting" weekend. I'll post all about it in the morning when the kids are off to school. Lets just say 2 things happened that were definitely not good. Me, Manny and the kids are ok, this happened to two of my loved ones though! Everyone is ok right now. And then I do have something a little/ok very exciting to share.....

Goodnight! :goodvibes

I've had room only reservations before and tried to change it to a package and they couldn't do it. They had to refund my room only reservation payment and then book a package reservation. I've also read numerous threads asking this same question and the other Disers had the same thing happen to them as I did. I'd still call if I were you because you never know when or if Disney changed their policy.

No fair to leave us hanging.......

I know...that's kinda why i did it :rotfl:

Well I thought that I had heard this before, which is why I asked, so it makes sense. I have no problem waiting until booking when the packages come out. I just figured to get it done and start paying on it, but no biggie, i'd rather wait then take a chance of a mess. Plus I hate changing things once it's booked, it seems like they never get it right after a change.

So my weekend: I worked friday night. I got home about 12:30am. I had a message on my cell phone from my cousin. My grandmother is in the hospital. She has emphazima(if that's spelled right) and COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) Well...she's doing better today and will hopefully be able to go home soon. She'll have a visiting nurse when then happens cause she won't be able to get in and out of the house for a while. Right now they're still working on trying to get her up and moving around without her oxygen dropping. As of yet, that hasn't happened. Unfortunately this is going to be a long road for her and for us. This doesn't go away or get better. What happened this week is basically an "attack" of this disease. There is a name for it, but I don't remember. She'll get back to normal from this attack but apparently over the year(s) they'll occur more frequently until...well, I don't know... We'll just deal with it all as it comes...

After listening to that message and waking Manny up to tell him, I get a text. It's my Mom "Are you still up, call me" Well, I knew something was wrong cause she's not usually up at that time. I call her and the call starts like this "He's ok now but..." I was like :scared1: My brother was at the gym and was on some machine. Well he felt a muscle pull in his back. He got up off the machine and felt SEVERE pain. All of a sudden he felt everything just drain from his body (he said it felt like when you get really scared...but worse, he said it's the worse feeling he ever had) Well.....he was passing out. He is 6ft 3. His friend was sitting right there on another weight bench, didn't really know Ricky was feeling this way, he didn't say anything he just stood there. Well he fell. Straight forward, didn't even crumble, fell straight down like a tree falling. WELL....he fell onto a medal rack that holds weights. He cut the top of his head open.... When he woke up, he saw everyone standing around telling him the ambulance was coming and not to move he hit his head. He had not idea he hit his head, he said he didn't even feel it hurting. All of a sudden he felt blood pouring down his face....He was laying in a pool of blood by the time the ambulance got him up. They wrapped it and got him going. Now remember the back pain was the cause of this fall so he couldn't even move. The worse part is this. After hours of cat scans and xrays they finally come in to staple his head (My brother does not like any pain meds or anything like that so he refused it. They said it would hurt but then be over) They staple his head 7 times.....THEN "OH BOY THE STAPLES ARE NOT GOING TO HOLD THIS CLOSED" Oh my god, I would have been screaming at the dr. They then have to proceed to take all 7 staples out. NOW have to give him 10 shots of novacaine right into the open wound. He now doesn't feel anything of course and they proceed with 12 stitches. In the end he has to take more pain meds anyway because he could not even get off the bed. His back was in so much pain.
I spent the day with him yesterday. He was happy to see me and the girls. His Fiance is wonderful taking care of him. He was finally able to get up and walk around a little yesterday. Jaclyn (his finace) cooked on the grill and we all ate and sat outside. I was just so happy that he was ok and yesterday was feeling a little better. I LOVE him so much. He's my best friend. Always has been and always will be. We're only 2 years apart so were always very close growing up. I would die if anything ever happened to him. I kept thinking all weekend that if he was one step closer he would have smashed into the medal racks with his face. Right now his face is a little cut up his nose is cut, swollen and bruised but if he hadn't stopped the fall with the top of his head, he would have done major damage to his face. Right now he said the area is obviously sore on his head but he doesn't have a headache, he can move his head around fine, so thank god that's ok. Banging your head is sooo scary.

So luckily today everything is much calmer....hope for it to stay that way. Its 70 degrees here today and we're going to go ride scooters when the kids get out of school. Well...not me, i'm gonna walk. :goodvibes

I did have some exciting news to share (kind of) but i'll do that in another post in a bit. Gotta get "some" cleaning done and I feel that fun news shouldn't be in this post. :headache:
