OK .... we had absolutely no problem getting our King Suite upgrade as LF Platinum for the HRH in May using the Super Saver rate.

Now, for our Nov. 28 - Dec 3 trip, I tried to change my AAA rate of $191.20 at HRH/King Suite upgrade to a Super Saver rate of $179 (as listed on the netbooker site). I was initially told, no problem and my rate was changed. I got a call back maybe an hour later and was told to call Universal Reservations Special Services. I did so and was told that the upgradeable rate was $191.20, and if I wanted my King Suite I had to pay the higher rate. They would give me the rate of $179, but that would only be for a garden view. This was a supervisor who told me this.

I noticed that the King Suite is available for seasonal rates online and AAA by calling. However, you cannot see King Suites listed as being available for the Super Saver rates online.

So, am I just having some bad luck with these pesky reservation people or are they eliminating the Super Saver rate as an "upgradeable rate?"

Is it just Platinum folks who can't get their suite upgrades? What about Gold folks? Are you getting your Deluxe room/water view upgrades with the Super Saver rate?

Please post your recent experiences in making reservations after May 2007 for stays May - December 2007. Thanks!

We got our platinum suite upgrades with SS rate in February at PBH.

Have you tried to make any ressies recently though using the SS rate and scoring your upgrades?

We had no trouble in January '07 making a ressie for our May '07 trip scoring our Plat upgrade at the SS rate. But I am having trouble now changing our rate for our October and November stays.

I used the super savers rate during spring break and got my gold upgrade to deluxe. Of course when I got there they told me I couldnt have it, and I had to show them the confirmation paperwork. I wonder why they are getting so stingy with the upgrades now? I'm finally platinum and all the rules seem to be changing.
