Ok, so we are taking our annual trip in December this year, and I am planning for a large group. The cast of characters will be DH :darth: , DD princess: - 16, DD:stitch: - 12, myself :cloud9: (me in Disney), my DB - 34, DSIL - 34, DN :wizard: - 5, DN princess: - 1 1/2, my DMom, and DFIL and DMIL (will most likely require a wheel chair). And more characters could be added! We will be there 10 days.

So what can we not miss? What can we pass up? What resorts are a must see with decorations? Is there anything I need to know about touring with a person in a wheelchair? I feel like I am going to miss something.:scared:

Thanks so much:cheer2:
Only a little over 300 days to go:sad1:

At Christmas time there are so many things to see. We went with a large group a few years ago and I'm glad we did it, but I don't know that we'll go again during that time..we went the first week of December. So here's some help.

MUST SEES - MVMCP - it's alittle expensive, but you have to do it once. There's a parade, show at the castle, Night Before Christmas play and free cookie and hot chocolate.
- Definitely hit every park to see all of their decorations and the trees. Each tree is decorated by it's park's theme. Epcot has an offical tree lighting ceremony with Characters each night.

- Resorts - Of course you have to see the Gingerbread house at GF, but don't forget to go to the BC to see the Carosuel or the Polynesian to see the chocolate town. Plus each resort has it's own tree based on it's theme and some of them are pretty neat. WL was very interesting. Each tree that Disney has is over twenty feet tall, so the decorations are amazing.

Since it's in the month of Christmas you are going to see everyone dressed up in their Christmas colors. Shirts, hats, earings, face painting and this is everyday, anytime. So be sure to be in the season when you go. People decorate their windows of their room, bring mini christmas trees and display them in the window. It's a lot of fun.

We toured with a person in an electronic vehicle that we rented through Randy's Mobility and they were great. Take FULL advantage of the handicap line so you can get on to rides first. However bring a horn because people don't get out of the way for wheelchairs and sometimes cut in front of them when everyone's making that mad dash to the door.

I you're staying onsite then be aware about the buses. Every bus has a handicap section and by having a wheelchair or EV you have first dips to that section REGARDLESS if there are people sitting there. The bus drivers are very helpful getting the chairs onto the buses and lock them in securely whether the person has to stay in the chair or not. JSYKnow sometimes the lifts breakdown - that's the only problem we had with the buses..Besides peole giving us faces when they had to give up their seat for my mil's EV. Hey the woman would barely be able to walk from the bus to the front gate without her knee giving her problems and that's after having it replaced.

Just have fun.

thank you so much for all your suggestions. I am so excited, I really don't want to wait. :goodvibes
