Pleasure Island Closing Night Clubs

And now there are rumors that they're trying to prevent people from recording video inside the AC now. At a time when it seems EVERYONE is recording because they want to preserve their memories of the experience.

I haven't seen any of that first hand, so I can't verify if it's true. But if it is, it's gonna get ugly.

I know of one incident, about 2 weeks ago--not the one Scurvy mentions--where my friend was trying to record the Rythym Ritual from the mezzanine and was told by a ticket-taker he couldn't videotape. My friend wasn't sure if this was a new club policy or an overzealous new employee (there are signs around PI that basically say no videotaping or photography--would love to see them try to enforce the latter).

With the current level of cameras, and mobile phones, I don't see how they could realistically enforce either of them.

All this will do is create un-neccessary animosity.

I was in the club this weekend and taped everything. I noticed security in the club and they did not approach me about filming. There were several other people taping the shows in the library too. It would be awful if they were to enforce this silly rule at a time when everyone is trying to get memories to watch for years to come. I still have hopes that Disney will change its minds and let us keep our club.

Well, ladies and germs, {:goodvibes } we have to face it. If Disney wants to get rid of something, they WILL do it. Horizons; Gone, Old GM pavilion; Gone, Take Flight, Delta Dream Flight; Gone, Wonders of Life; Gone, Mr. Toads Wild Ride; Gone. etc., etc. They are all gone, and as mad as we may get, if Disney wants to get rid of PI; Gone! :sad2:

We can still let them know that we, their customers, the ones that pay their bills aren't happy about it.

I took a look at the quote in your signature, and decided that this good man won't "do nothing". I'll do every thing I can think of.

I filmed clips of shows at AC on both Saturday and Sunday. I did not film entire shows. No one said I couldn't. I was not the only one using a camera to take video; there were several guests with video cameras. My friend took a lot of still pictures AND video.

Last night, plenty of taping, no incidents that I saw. Either enforcement is very sporadic, or (hopefully) they decided to drop the idea all together. Or maybe it was just a new crop of overzealous employees. :confused3

yeah, who knows :confused3

All I can say is I'm dying to go one more time before it closes. Not only AC but PI in general. Hell I'd spend an entire week just going to the clubs every night. Thankfully it's free for me. If things work out, I'll make it. If not, then so long /cry
