It's the fact that a person had free reliable transportation to PI and DIDN"T have to watch their alcohol consumption that made the dance clubs at PI such a wonderful thing. I just had to make sure I wasn't spinny on the bus![]()
You're right, most vacationers will not leave Disney property in search of dance clubs. Disney must think the market is too small to make a difference. Yes, there are other entertainment venues, but for me, I desire loud techno with an awesome light show and rotating dance floor. Now there is nothing like that and it deeply saddens me.
I'm tellin ya...mark my words, in a few years you just might see Mannequins II popping up close to Disney![]()
I just got back from spending the weekend at WDW to go to the Adventurers Club and my husband and I stayed offsite for the first time ever. We liked it much more than I expected! If Disney gives us fewer reasons to spend our evenings on Disney property then I won't feel a bit bad choosing a hotel that's more convenient to the nighttime entertainment. Plus, on this trip we ate at DTD twice and did a little shopping while we waited for the Club to open and we wouldn't have if the Club wasn't there. We may not be in the majority but I talked to several other people during our trip that felt the same way. Not to mention all the locals who love the Club and said they wouldn't go to DTD again once the Club is gone.
The benefits to staying on site aren't as good as they used to be, and lately the Club was the primary reason we've stayed onsite for every trip. When it's gone I doubt we'll stay onsite again - we paid far less this trip for a much larger (and nicer) room.
