I just had to stop by and say how grateful I am to the advice that is offered and sometimes received on these boards. Especially, Bill and some others who are plain dealers and sometimes parade rainers (that's a compliment!!) who save us from ourselves every day.
I first came here a couple of years ago learning (stalking) the ins and outs of DVC. A year later, I felt that I knew enough to take the plunge. I admit to making an emotional, shoot from the hip decision when we purchased but at least we did it resale and forewarned/forearmed. Originally, I was gutted to not be able to get VGF direct and after buying 600 Aulani points (we're on the West Coast) I still felt that I would have to buy 200 pts resale VGF to ever be able to stay there. Posters here are always telling us to exercise caution. Let the dust settle. Try all the resorts. Don't buy more than you need. Love your HR. And they are all correct. You saved me from folly, so far : )
Thanks to you, we understood the pros and cons of a big contract and what to expect. I'm not even sure I fully understand all the ins and outs of UY still but I know I can get the answers here. I feel like we have definitely made a good decision (for our specific needs/wants) and already made a huge dent in the outlay. We have been able to give away a week's stay to a teacher, give a couple nights to a bereaved widower, book a xmas-beach vacation, add a couple nights to our Spring Break rented Aulani trip, and even get 9 nights at VGC at 7 mos for next February Break, something I never thought would happen. SOMEBODY PINCH ME!!!
Danke Schon, Gracias, Merci, Thank You!
