Please, WHY is this happening to us?

My husband lost his I.T. job (systems manager) last Thanksgiving. He has been working every single day, morning to night, trying to find another one. He has had no luck. We have been ok up till now, but things are getting very, very scary. We have 3 children and I don't know what we're going to do if he can't find something very soon.
Anybody work in an I.T. dept. in the Northeast that know of any opportunities? Gosh, this is the worst thing we have ever been through. I wouldn't wish it on anybody.
I really, really need your prayers...please. Thanks so much.

I am also unemploued at the moment. My BIL went 10 months. They have 3 children and thought they might have to put their house up for sale....but are in a new area and were worried it would not sale.

I HOPE that he gets something very soon. What scary situaiton. My best wished for your family.

I feel your pain... my DH lost his job right after we bought our house and he wound up taking temp work to make sure we didn't go in debt while he was job searching. Just when I was about to give up hope, a staffing agency specializing in IT called him for a temp to hire... and well now he is at a wonderful, stable company and has had two promotions since. I wish for the best for you and your DH. My prayers are with you {hugs}

I think something that might help is in Elaines post. Has your husband looked into the Temp work. I know that some of our recent hires in the programming side have been temp to hire. A great way to find out how much the person really knows. If he hasn't already have your DH look into it.

Best wishes to you both. I was unemployed for over a year. So, I know how scary it is. Has he placed his resume on monster.com? That is how I finally found a job. A company called me, I interviewed and I got the job. Has he looked into doing contract work as an independent?

The temp idea sounds a good one to check into...

in our area, people who lose their jobs are told outright that they need to stay flexible and to be prepared to move away to find work.

I'm in the same boat... Being a Computer Technician with all my major cert.'s i'm in the unemployment section myself. I know it can be tough, but we will all find good jobs soon hopefully!

Thanks to everybody. Yes, he has his resume on Monster.com and everywhere else that is possible. He has checked into temporary and perm. positions and companies are being extremely picky right now. He has so much to offer and is so smart. I sure hope he finds something very soon.

I know what you are going through. My DS has a degree in Mechaincal Engineering and he can't find a job in his field. He is working Retail now to make his car and health insurance payments and living with us. We are in the Detroit area and it is really bad here.

SplshMtn...thank you for you warm words. However, the trip is off. I can't tell you heart broken I am, this was going to be our first trip as DVC members, I have had to postpone it once already. We have already had to use our "food" money on home expenses. I know God has a plan somehow, I sure wish He would put a rush on it.

{{HUGS}} sweetie. My brother has been laid off as an IT since March, he too has been searching for work. Right now he's working at minimum wage simply not to remain idle. It's heart breaking. He is going to probably lose his house because we can't continue to pay his note for him.

I'm saying a prayer that your husband finds employment very soon. Hang in there. Never forget that we're here if you need to talk and that we care.
