Hi everyone:

Last year I had the distinct pleasure of meeting a woman by the name of Shirley Nelson Brown. Shirley had recently taken over The Perfect Gift, a florist shop in Cocoa Beach, not too far from Port Canaveral. We learned about Shirley from scores of other DIS'ers who had used her service to put special gift baskets in their staterooms on the cruise. Needless to say, we were very impressed with Shirley, and her operation, as well as the SCORES of compliments she was getting from our folks.

However, the timing of our meeting was quite bad for me, and we never did get Shirley's info up on the site. That's something I feel terrible about. In spite of the fact that we did not initially move forward, Shirley continued to send me very sweet emails, and she even sent a beautiful gift basket to my Mom when my Father passed away last July (my Mom still talks about that to this day). Shirley never "pushed" to get her info up on the site, she just consistently sent me prayers and well wishes, knowing that I was going through a very difficult time.

So, in short, not only is THe Perfect Gift a first class operation, but it's also run by a first class lady. Shirley can do more than just cruises as well, as she is part of a larger nationwide network of florists. Just to elaborate -- for those that are not familiar with "Shilrey and Norm" from over on the cruise board --- they are truly our Angels in the Port Canaveral Area. I have been on three DCL cruises and have NEVER ordered from Shirley personally -- and I can STILL honestly say that I know that I could count on her and Norm to help in any way I ever would need while I am in their area. They have been known to help with trip planning, and even some unfortunate instances. A DCL passenger was staying in the port canaveral area the night before their cruise. When they went to their vehichle in the parking lot (of the hotel) the morning of their cruise they found that their vehicle had been badly vandalized and could not be driven to the port. They called on The Perfect Gift and Shirley and Norm picked up their family -- drove them to the port. Took care of the arrangement to have their vehicle repaired === all while they were on their cruise. When they returned from the cruise they were picked up at the port by S&N and their vehicle was ready for the trip home without any delay.

The stories could go on and on....

These are two VERY special people -- and I'm so glad that the DIS is giving them the recognition that they truly deserve.

What I mean to say is that I am having Shirley and company put together a basket for my daughters for our upcoming cruise. Can't wait to see the look on the girls faces when they see it!

Sue LOVED the flowers!!! She just called me from the Disney Wonder to let me know how surprised she was to receive flowers and how beautiful the arrangement is. She even commented on how they had used expensive ribbon for the bow. And she loved the variety of different autumn flowers that were used as well. The Perfect Gift gets two thumbs up from my florist wife.
