Please think of my kitty today..THE RESULTS!!!! Page 2!!

My 12 yr old cat is going in for a liver biopsy later today
I am so scared how he is going to do in surgery & what they will find.

We know he has something wrong with his liver, the blood test proved it, but to know exactly WHAT is wrong, we have to do a biopsy.

I am praying it is something that CAN be fixed......we should know the results of the biopsy no later then one week. (maybe sooner)

I am so worried it will come back as something that can not be fixed

Please keep Charlie in your thoughts today. He will have to stay overnight at the vet's so I won't see him again until Tuesday!

My little kitty is almost 14. When I realized something was up with her, I was a mess. Her problems seem to have been solved (for the moment, anyway) with a simple medication. I wish the same for you and Charlie. It still amazes me how close we become to our pets. I understand fully what Charlie means to you!

I just dropped him off about 30 mins ago, The vet said she will call as soon as the surgery is done.
I am thinking she will be calling around 12:00 or so.

Some people just don't understand how much pets are like family. I am glad there are people who understand.

We adopted Charlie when he was around 6 yrs old, he was a stray living in an old garage
He has been a member of our family ever since!

Oh my gosh, my heart goes out to you. My dog just passed away last week. We got this dog when I was 14 and we found out my dad had cancer. Since my dad was home all the time my dog and him were inseparable. 2 years later, my dad passed away and she was kind of our link to him and our comfort when we were sad. Her dying was like losing him all over again. Animals totally become human. They are members of your family. I'll be praying for you!

I am praying that your kitty will do fine and everything will be OK. Our kitty had a liver biopsy last Oct. and they told us she had developed a fatty liver, and that she would need tube feedings. At that point we had spent $500 and it was going to be hundreds of dollars more, so we tried one more thing our vet gave her a med that made her hungry and we switched her from healthy food-eukanuba to fancy feast 5 cans per day and she is doing great we feed her 2 cans per day and keep friskies in a bowl and it has worked. So keep the faith. The specialist told us that she hadnt seen any cat get better without tube feedings, but ours did so I'm praying that yours will too!!!

Just a brief update. I just got off the phone with the vet.
The surgery went pretty well.
The liver looked pretty normal to the naked eye, so that could be a good sign, being whatever he has we may have caught it early on & it can be treated!!
They also took a look at the other organs around the liver to make sure there are no masses or anything abnormal looking & they did not see anything! (yeah)

The vet said poor Charlie is still pretty groggy. He will have to stay overnight for observation. I will be able to pick him up later tomorrow morning.

She also said I should get the test results back by Friday! She is sending them to the U of Minnesota.

Now the waiting......
