I don't have a story to share but I love them. Does anyone have one to share? Anyone live in a haunted house or anything? Come on! It's dark out, it's a Friday night, close to Halloween.......tell us all a good one so we can lay awake and not be able to sleep!

I see dead people :scared1: Oh, wait. That's a movie I'm watching now.

I don't really have a ghost story but I have stayed in a famous haunted hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The hotel had been rented out for a major fraternity/sorority party and the room I stayed in had a trap door underneath the carpet that led to a "secret" passageway. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep that night for fear of what would come through that door in the floor.

Oh, wait. Another story....I sometimes hear and feel one of my dearly departed cats. Pita used to sleep by my head a lot. Every now and then I'll feel something on the bed with me around my head. I'll turn the light on and nothing will be there but I know I felt movements around my head! Spooky!

Right after Aiden was born, we rented this house that was built in like the 1920's. We used to get strange drafts there, doors slamming by themselves, and even my end table (which was one of those that is a slab of glass on a pedestal) would just begin vibrating sometimes. That stuff was kind of freaky, but didn't bother me all that much till something else happened:

We had a baby monitor in Aidens room. I kept it kind of loud when I was sleeping so it would wake me up if he did. Early one morning I was awakened by sudden loud static from the monitor. I ran into Aidens room to find that the monitor had been turned off. The kicker is, the lever had to be moved UP to turn it off, so there is no way it could have just fallen into that position, someone or something had to have done it. :earseek:

My sister's house has a ghost. I am not saying her house is "haunted" it just has a ghost. We think it is a little boy.

We discovered the little bugger about 15 years ago. My nephew's were 4 and 3. My niece was an infant. The 1st indication that something was going on was, not long after they moved in, my 4 year old nephew got a "friend". At first, we thought it was an imaginary friend, my nephew had full converstions. Asked questions, waited for a response, and even replied to questions. His friend's name was "Jimmy'.

Around this time, a few months later, my BIL had to get up and go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Their room was in the front of the house, at the end of the hallway. Just outside his bedroom, on the right was the baby's bedroom, which had an internal door to the next bedroom. The boys room. when he came back from the bathroom, he went in the baby's room to make sure she still had her covers on. As he was tucking her in, out of his perephrial vision, he saw a little boy go into the other room. He thought it may have been the 3 yr. So, he goes in to tuck him in, and sees an empty bed. it is then he realizes, BOTH boys were asleep in his bed. He knew he saw a little boy. He went and sat on his bed, woke my sister up, and told her to feel his arms. The hairs on his arms were standing straight up.

About a year later, my sister was doing some ironing in her bedroom. She saw someone standing in the corner behind her, and thought it was one of the kids. She continued ironing, and without turning around asked if they were just going to stand there or did they want to say something. No response. when she turned around, the room was empty.

The real proof was when I moved into the attic. For about a month, every night at midnight, the attic door would open and close. I am really surprised it did not freak me out. For some reason it didn't.

This isn't much, but here goes:

Our house was built in 1996. Around 1999 or 2000 , (the kids were about 5 and 2 years old) this happened for a year or two, only in the evenings. Sometimes we would be in the living room watching t.v. & would hear a loud "thump" or two right above our heads in the ceiling. Right above the living room are the kids' rooms. We would always run upstairs to see what it could've been & always --nothing. We were starting to get fed up with this. Well, one night after the kids were in bed, we heard it, really loud. DH jumped up from the couch & said "That's it. This time something's up." Something definetely happened & we sprang up the stairs, thinking DD fell out of bed....but there she was asleep under the covers. :confused3

Around that same time I would often lie down with DS2 in his bed until he fell asleep. Every night I did this, I could hear DH's feet on the carpet, coming in to check on us as he would go up to bed. I'd always hear his feet on the carpet. He would just come in, look, & leave. One night, I heard him come in, turn around, & walk out. I had been to tired to turn over, look towards the door, & smile. I just lay half asleep. Well, a few minutes later I heard him come back, walk in, & walk out again. I even remember feeling creeped out & didn't want to turn my head & look. The next morning, I asked him why he had come back in to check on us a 2nd time & he said, "What are you talking about? I didn't come back in again." Right away, we both felt creeped out.

All my neighbors said we had a ghost. We haven't had anything like that since about that time. We never found any explanation for all of the loud "thumps" right above our heads in the living room.

OK..great ghost story but...you've totally creeped me out & how am I supposed to get any sleep tonight now? :goodvibes

My brother owns a large Victorian duplex built in 1910. When he first bought it he was alone in the house doing some repairs and he heard loud footsteps walking down the cellar stairs as clear as day. He's not one to believe in ghosts but at the time he ran downstairs to see who it was and nobody was there. :scratchin His GF lived in the house, too, and would often hear scratching at the windows from outside which scared her and her cats would act strangely. She swore the house had ghosts.

:scared1: Knew I should not have read this before I went to bed. Why couldn't I have waited till morning. !!!!

I had an encounter when I was a little girl, but I can still recall every detail like it was yesterday. I don't really want to describe it or talk about though, because every time I do I have horrible nightmares about it.

I had just gotten into bed one night and was under the blanket. I felt something touch my feet (I hate when someone touches my feet because it tickles) and my feet get cold. I watched the blanket move off of my feet up to my ankles, my toes now sticking out. Nobody else was in the room.

My sister saw an old man in a top hat walk out of one room and into the bathroom

while sitting in the living room watching tv, I saw a woman in a long victorian style burgundy dress walk from the front room, down the hall, and into my room one night. It was floor length. I could see the bottom of the dress skirting across the floor

While living in an apartment built on old war grounds, I heard something (or someone) walking up the stairs. You could only hear the last three steps squeak, then you would hear a thud on the hardwood floor.

In that same apartment, my sister was brushing her hair one day and saw someone run past the door. freaked her out

My dad lived in a house when he was growing up where there were two bedrooms upstairs and an attic space. He and his two brothers shared the room where the attic access door was and his sisters were across the hall. Every night they would hear someone walking up the stairs, through their room, and into the attic. All the kids heard it and several of them were almost adults. Their parents didn't really believe it until one night after he had heard all the kids come in and go upstairs, my Grandpa got up and locked the front door - only to discover that one of the kids wasn't home yet.

When they went to a picnic at a neighboring town they met the cousin of the people who used to live in the house. He asked if they heard it. After they moved, they heard that the new people also heard it.

My Dad and his siblings have great stories about the crazy things they used to do to scare each other when they lived there because of that. Since they were all a bit on edge about it, they could get each other really good.

My cousin had a poltergeist in her house. Strange things would happen....she'd be home alone, and go into her kitchen only to find they had been done already.

Her doors would close and lock if everyone was outside...changing the locks on the doors did nothing to stop this.

One day right after they moved in, my cousin heard one of her cats crying. She couldn't find the poor thing. Turns out he was in a box in the BOTTOM of a stack of moving boxes that were all the same size. The box had not yet been unpacked....VERY strange!!

But, the thing that happened most often was, almost every day about 10-15 minutes before her husband would actually come home from work, my cousin would be upstairs...hear the door open, and actually hear her husband say, "I'm home". He is a refrigeration repairman, and didn't keep "regular" hours. My cousin kind of liked it...she knew from the first time she heard him enter, that he would actually be home within 10-15 minutes.

My cousin's mom passed away a couple of months before her son was born. My cousin used to hear static on the baby monitor many evenings, and then she would hear her son giggle. One day when he was about 18 months old, she pulled out a photo album to show her son pics. He saw a picture of her mom, and said, "Nana"...she had never shown him pictures of her. He is now 17. To this day, you cannot convince him that his grandma was dead before he was born. He says, "But, she used to come into my room at night. She'd sing me stories and make me laugh...she was really funny!"

I'm glad I don't see things!!

It really does show that parents/grandparents are watching over us. Nice story. :goodvibes
These are great!!

just a few minutes ago, a sexy women ghost came up behind me and sexually violated me

When I was little, my dad used to tell me a story about when he lived in Germany he was driving late one night when he passed a cemetary. He told me an older woman walking along outside the cemetary gate caught his eye. She was wearing what he said looked like a white nightgown and carried a tissue and looked like she was crying. This was in the 1950's and he said it was not normal to see someone out walking like that late at night. (He was in the military and was coming home from guard duty) He kept looking at her as he passed and when he did pass her he looked in his rear view mirror to see her again but this time she was gone. He immediately stopped his car and looked behind him but she was gone. He said he felt his heart racing and his hair stand up on the back of his neck.

This one was told to me by my mother. After my dad died, my mother came home from the hospital where he died at and slept in the guest room that first night, she said she couldn't stand sleeping in their bed. The hallway leading to the guest room has hardwood floors. She told me she was sitting up in the bed crying with her little dog laying on the end of the bed when she hear footsteps. She said all of a sudden her dog stood up and started wagging his tail. Then she said her door creaked open and she saw my dad. She said she saw his face as clear as day. He smiled at her and then turned around and faded away. She suddenly felt a warm over her and felt like everything was going to be ok. She got up closed the door and went to sleep. A few months later, my brother and his family moved in. His daughters were 3 and 4 at the time. Strange things started to happen around the house they were unexplained. I experienced some of them.
My father always had a cigar in his mouth when he was home. Every now and then when one of us would be in the living room sitting in my "dad's chair" we would start to smell the scent of a cigar. No explanation, you would just start to smell it. My neices started to wake my brother up in the middle of the night saying that their papa was standing at the end of their bed. One night when I spent the night there, I felt someone rubbing my foot while I was in bed falling asleep. I didn't think anything of it at first because my dad, since I was born, would always come into my room before he went to bed and rubbed my foot. The reason he did that the day I was born his appendix had ruptured so he wasn't able to see me until I was a week old and all he was able to touch the first time he saw me was my foot. So, everynight he would come in my room and touch my foot before I went to sleep. I know it sounds strange, but that is how it was. So, anyway, while I felt the rubbing on my foot, I realized something wasn't right. I sat up really quickly and noone was there, but the blanket was pulled up and my foot was exposed.
Less than six months after my father died, my mother couldn't take it anymore and sold the house.

Also, I used to hear stories when I lived in Germany about people playing with a Ouiji board in the barracks and getting answered in German. People also use to see they described as Nazi soldiers walking around late at night. I thought I saw something one night when I was walking home from work, but I'm not sure what I saw. It could have been my imagination playing tricks on me.

We lived in base housing in Japan. the house was designed with a sq living rm and a hallway off it that lead to 2 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms. I would be home by myself and hear a little girl laugh and once I saw her looking into the living room. our bathrooms would flush by itself all the time. My oldest DD at the time 9/10 told me later she would have talks with a little girl who would like to sit in her rocking chair. The house was due to be gutted and redone when we moved. We think she came with us because our new house for about 6 months also had the flushing by itself problem. Then she left and no more flushing. My DD said she said godbye. We later found out a child had died in the military house about 10 yrs earlier.

I was on this school trip one time, and we were going to all the cemataries in my town. So we get to this one, and it is behind a place that used to house mentally handicapped people (now this place gives them work and helps them. they used to live here) This cematary is full, and I mean, full of unmarked graves, and its back in the woods. we have no idea how many people were buried here. They say that they just wrapped them in sheets, because so many were dying, now I don't know if thats true or not, but it is a very creepy place. Well we get there and we are standing there talking, and we start to walk into the woods, where the graves are. we are about half way there when my teacher finds this rock (geode) and he breaks it open and shows us the inside (off topic, but it was neat) and I look up, while everyone is looking at the rock. I see this bird on the ground and a little girl. The bird is about 50 yards from us, and this is a BIG bird. (I think it was a hawk) and this girl sees me looking at her. I thought she was someone's kid. She holds her finger up to her mouth (like shes saying "shhhh") then she runs the other way, into the woods. When she gets to the edge of the woods she poofs. I mean, she was there, then she was gone. *Poof*

Well that was longer than I meant it to be.
