Calling all experts!.....I have a complicated (to me) plan for booking next years Vacation...My air fare is booked so my dates are set as July 15th -29th.

Please look over my plan and point out anything I have wrong or any advice..:thumbsup2..I have been over and over different scenarios and have come up with this plan. Everything is at 7 months!

I have 67 points left in my DEC 10 use year...320 available to borrow in my DEC 11 use year..(at least i will in december)..I can also purchase up to 24 points from disney.

Firstly ..I would LOVE BWV 1 bed BW view for the first 7 nights..(271points)..but I think I will try for 6 nights and spend first night elsewhere on cash (228points)..Should i buy the 24 points from disney now when i make this ressie?

The next 2 nights will be spent at a beach resort to be decided possibly vero but on cash.

So the 24th to the 29th the last 5 nights i really would like a 1 bed but Iam low on points..If I purchase the 24 points from disney when i make the BW ressie then I will have 183 points left in dec 11 use year that i can borrow.

I Hope for a miracle to get a 1 bed value at AKV (130points)..this would then leave enough points to try and get the 1 bed BWV for my first night..if it is not available can I waitlist the one night at BW and can this be tied to my 6 night stay so we don't have to move?

If a 1 bed value at AKV is not available the I hope to get a 1 bed standard at Jambo for 160 points...this will mean no first night at BWV but will give me 23 points to leave in my DEC 11 use year!

So how does this look..:).....normally my ressies are straightforward but this year they seem to be taking a LOT more points than normal!..must be the reallocation..not worked out good for me!

Also we stretching to the 1 bed for the whole stay..as it will probably be DS18 last trip for a while!

Yes if you waitlist 1st night at BWV that can then be tied to your 6 nights if it is the same view-category/villa size but I don't know for 100% sure if they will actually guarantee that you will not need to switch to another villa but odds would be very high in your favor that you'd have same villa for entire 7 nights, I really don't recall hearing much at all, if ever, about waitlists that have been fulfilled that involved needing to switch villa.

jmho, if it were me I would book entire 7 nights at the get go and not contend at all with waitlist for first night. Maybe look into booking night on cash if you're concerned with having enough points on hand to book second leg of WDW stay at AKV; if 25% member's cash discount is available it could be all the more worthwhile to just get entire reservation arranged and the peace of mind that goes along with that.

Best wishes on your planning, it sounds like a wonderful vacation :goodvibes

Thanks!...I would really love to book all 7 nights at once at BWV..but if I do that iam taking a chance on getting the 1 bed value the following week..and from what i have read that might be really hard to get!...I could `end up in a studio that last week..and the priority is a 1 bed.
The only 1 beds i can get are AKV value ..AKV standard or last resort OKW..which is 150 points.

Only if I get the value can I afford the bW first night and I won't know that till the second week!...arrggggg!..Iam in a quandry:)

I like the idea of paying cash with discount for the first night at BW...but for a 1 bed how much would this be?..don't know if DH will go for that.

I suppose I should just let go of my dream of checking into BW on arrival day and spend the first night somewhere else!

any idea how much a studio with discount would be at BW or BCv??

I would try to book all 7 nights at BWV on Dec 15th (270 points) Then try to book the AKV value room on the 24th. If that is not available when you call, then you would drop the first night from you BWV reservation to free up enough points for alternate accomodations.

You are out nothing by booking all 7 nights at BWV to begin with as you can always cancel the first night if you end up needing the points. But if you wait to see what happens with the AKV reservation, there is a chance that there will be no availability for the first night at BWV when you try to add it.

I also would not purchase the 24 additional points until you actually need them. It's nice to have this option to purchase additional points to complete the reservation, but $15 is generally considered high, so I would only purchase exactly what I definitely need.

that would be great!..I didn't realise that was an option.to drop a night from a ressie if I needed the points!..I thought I would have to cancel the whole ressie at BW and rebook..which I wouldn't have chanced in case I lost the whole ressie.

i think this sounds like a good plan.:)
