Okay, guys, I KNOW that I have chosen the #1 probably most crowded day to go to MK, but for some reason I just feel the need to go to MK on Xmas Day. Have any of you gone on that day and been able to enjoy yourselves and fell Xmas spirit, despite the crowds? We are HUGE Disney AND Christmas fans and it just seems like the best of both must be in that park...am I wrong? We wanted to make sure to be there for LTT dinner and so it sounds like we need to be there pretty much all day to avoid being shut out. I made PS for all meals that day, so hopefully no long lines for food for us! We are not so interested in rides as ambience and Disney/Xmas fun.

This is our 1st Xmas away from home. We were at MK for July during VERY crowded times and given careful planning were able to really enjoy MANY, MANY peaceful and simply beautiful moments despite heat and crowds..is Xmas day any different?

Thanks for your help...BTW, we are traveling with 5yo and 18mo. old.

I really can't answer your question directly, but I couldn't help but comment. :D We spent last New Years Eve at DL and LOVED it. Yes, the crowds were rediculously heavy, and no, we really couldn't ride very many rides, but that didn't matter to us. Lots of people didn't enjoy themselves for these reasons, but my BF and I think that there is so much more to a Disney theme park than riding rides. That day, it was all about the atmosphere, the excitement, the decorations, the fun! We had been to DL loads of times before, so we never felt like we were missing out on attractions because of the lines. Instead, we were experiencing a whole new side of the park that we hadn't seen before: a holiday!

My advice--just relax and enjoy yourselves. Holidays at Disney can be a wonderful thing. Special music, parades, decorations, and lots of magic memories. Just try not to get too wrapped up in the fact that it's crowded and you'll have a great time!

:earsboy: Besides, what a great memory it will make for your family to say that they were at the Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day??? That's what we're thinking! We're tackling the parks the week before Christmas and know we're not going to be able to accomplish much, if anything at MK on Christmas Day, but so what? We don't plan on being at MK all day due to the crowds, but we managed to get breakfast in the castle at 8:15....anything else is just icing on the cake!

Been there, done that....

We had fun at MK on Christmas day. However - we did leave about 11 am when it got really crowded. We then went to several different resorts and explored the decorations and ambience in the resorts. We ate lunch at the GF and went back to our room. Kids swam a bit, we rested some, went to Epcot later that evening. Enjoyed the Christmas decorations in the WS. My kids were a bit freaked by the huge numbers of people.....the little one couldn't see anything for all the people. I would put as many in strollers as will sit in one. No one will step on them and they will feel a bit more in control I think.

Have fun!

My first adult trip to MK was with my ex and his family and we went on Dec 26. We got there first thing in the a.m. and stayed 'til closing. I have no idea if they closed the parks, but lemme tell ya, it was packed!

We had a great time b/c the group I was with was so much fun. We stood in lines (this was in '97...long before fast pass) and just joked around. I think Splash took 2 hours to get on...but we really didn't care.

Now fast forward to New Years 2001 and it was just my ex and myself. I remember going into Epcot, but only staying half the day. I'd been so many times to that park, I didn't feel the need to fight the crowds.

If you really want to go, go and have a great time. If you realize before you go that the crowds are going to be overwhelming, you won't get frustrated. Have a magical time!

:)
