A few months back I decided to get healthy, change up the diet, and generally get myself back to a moderately healthy size. My children had other plans and decided to get sick (appendicitis, upper respiratory infection from hell, appendicitis on another one - you get the idea) so now that it looks like everyone is healthy again, I'm hitting the gym.
We joined the YMCA on Saturday last week and I started going on Monday, I'm finding muscles I'd forgotten I'd owned, abs, thighs, butt - holy cow!
So someone, anyone, tell me my limbs are not going to fall off - that the aches and pains will go away. I'm working through the pain and keeping it up, but hot diggity this hurts! I've been doing the treadmill and recumbent bike to start, next week I meet with a trainer to go over the weight machines.
I'm down three pounds this week so far
but have lots to go! I'm spending a month in Europe this summer with the kids and my goal is to be down to a size that I can be almost comfortable sitting on a plane with three kids for 14 hours!
