Please tell me at Tutto and Mama Melroses

I am considering dropping Coral Reef from our agenda (we are still in the planning stages).

I was thinking maybe of Italian. Any thoughts on Tutto or Mama Melroses? How's the food, ambiance, etc. Do they have bread with dipping oil?

If it matters, we like places like Olive Garden and Bravos. How do they compare to them?

We love Tutto and it is way way better than the Olive Garden. OMG so much better in my opinion.

I know people compare Mama Melrose and Tony's to the Olive garden, from what I have seen on here.

I would keep coral reef though if you can do both. Tutto and coral reef are some of our favs.

They both are good. But Tutto in my opinion is so much BETTER!

Mama Melrose's is on my list to try, but we loved Tutto's. It really feels like an upscale authentic Italian restaurant. Not anything like Olive Garden, even though I really like Olive Garden. They did bring breads and oil and a small dish of marinated vegetables. The service was great. I definitely recommend it.

We did Coral Reef last time. It was okay. I love it for the ambiance, but the food is so-so. Maybe I'll leave Coral Reef on. Not sure yet. Decisions, decisions.

Maybe, I should switch Sci-Fi, to just a milkshake break.....then save the table service meal for Tutto. I wonder if Sci-fi milkshakes count as a snack. If not, we can just pay OOP.

Well, thanks for the suggesions. I haven't done Italian at WDW since the old Italian place in Italy in the early 90's.

I wouldn't compare either to Olive Garden. They are both good. Tutto is expensive. The portions at MR are small. We didn't get any "free" bread at MR, only at Tutto.

Tutto is one of our fav WDW restaurants.

I don't mind if the Mama Melrose portions are small. Maybe we can get an appetizer to compensate. The cheese flatbread on the entree menu sounds good enough to be an appetizer. Is it just like cheese garlic bread?

I think portion size depends on the item. I had pasta there in Jan. and I'm not sure I finished half. I've got a pretty healthy appetite too. I've eaten there a couple of times before too and don't recall thinking the portions were small, but those visits were at least a year and a half ago and things change.
