LOVED the pics! Thanks so much for sharing Blue Bayou is definitely on our list for 2010, for sure! Just looks too cool atmosphere wise and then the food pics look YUM! Surf and Turf looks pretty tasty along with those pics of the Monte Cristo! The cookie boat is adorable. My kids would love that and those dinner rolls looked pretty darn good with the melted butter. We can't wait to try this next year! Thanks again for sharing the great pics!

We had a wonderful experience, we went for lunch, party of six with two small kids, and everyone was happy!

I don't have a lot to offer picture-wise, here is my eldest DS getting a free chocolate mousse just for wearing his birthday button! You can kind of make out some of the decor and fun lighting in the background......

And here is the infamous cookie boat, I would pillage a village for one right now!

(Oh, and in the background, one of the VERY tasty dinner rolls....a BIG hit with my kids!)

Blue Bayou is ABSOLUTELY the best! Nothing at all like it ANYWHERE, IMHO...not even @ WDW! It's so awesome...the atmosphere is simply the best! We had my DH's b-day lunch there back in February & it was completely awesome! Totally worth the splurge!

We love the atmosphere at BB!! And we've never had a problem getting a water table. The food is fair, but not equal in quality to the price IMO.

Last time we went one of the boats passed and a person in it started opera singing!!! He wasn't half bad! If I remember right I think he was singing a piece from 'Carmen'.

You just never know what's gonna happen at BB!

I thought id share but someone mentioned to me at work that Blue Bayou's food has dramatically dropped, but i do think its because of the on going contruction currently underneath Blue Bayou which i do believe has a limited size kitchen now.

Blue Bayou and Club 33's kitchen are actually below Blue Bayou. They bring food UP from underneath.

I do believe they are just upgrading the kitchen and giving the chefs a bigger place to work. But ive also heard that the kitchen is actually a the pavillion temporary.

I agree, the food seems to have improved lately. I had the surf and turf most recently, and it was delicious.

I would love to know if anyone has any pictures of their experiences at the Blue Bayou. We would love to see the food choices and overall atmosphere pics. We kept seeing this enchanting little place to eat when we rode on the Pirates ride but after we exited the ride, we forgot to go see what this place was all about and didn't find out until we returned home. We are from Louisiana so to see that it had some Cajun flair, it has interested us into wanting to book this for our 2010 trip. Any help would greatly be appreciated. THANKS SO MUCH

I went for the first time last Monday. I will not be back. Nothing went wrong, but it was overpriced and the food was not THAT great. We got the Monte Cristo Sands. $22. I could not eat it becasue it was very thick deep fried lunch meat. I decided to pick out the meat after the second sand and it was tiny little corners of lunch meat and swiss cheese surrounded by thick puffy deep fried poof. The salad was ok, the service was good. It was just overpriced, I felt, for what you got. The next day we went to white water snacks, the food was better imo. Actually service was very good.

while it is true that the food is overpriced and average (the monte cristo at benegains tastes the same as the one there) the main reason i go is for the atmosphere which to me is unparrelled to anything anywhere else

I remember we used to go to the BB on every trip,but the food was better about 3-4 years ago. They had a different chef at the time. The new chef changed some of the menu items, so we were bummed to not find our favorite sausage stuffed mushrooms anymore because the new chef took them off the menu. The food isn't so great anymore so we don't go back ...it's all very bland. Maybe in a few years when the get a different chef.....The atmosphere is great though...

Thanks for all the great replies I can't wait to eat here with me, hubby and my 2 kids in 2010!!! That Monte Cristo and the Surf and Turf sound pretty darn good-YUM! I love Lobster Everytime we rode Pirates, I kept looking over there thinking how neat it would be to dine there. I'm so looking forward to this in 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all the great reviews and pics! Makes me even more excited!!!

I don't pay mind to the bad reviews. If I listened to negative reviews, I wouldn't do anything, LOL That is like Roger Ebert not liking the new Transformers movie and rating it so low. If I would have listened to him, we would have missed out on a FAB FAB MOVIE It was AWESOME! So, thanks to all who provided good reviews and for those who didn't enjoy their experience, I'm sorry it wasn't your cup of tea

We were there for lunch last Tuesday, and I think it will be our last visit for awhile.

We also go every trip (just had dinner at BB in November), and while I love the atmosphere, it's expensive and we've been rushed every time. I'm not one to linger, but I also don't want to be hovered over to finish my meal. I know, however, that they have to turn tables quickly.

I'm sure we'll be back eventually, but maybe it's time for a change. I think we'll try Cafe Orleans next time.
