DH wants me to check into how much it would cost to stay offsite instead of the value like POP for 6 or 7 nights. We are a family of 4 (2 kids under 13). Looking for budget hotel comparisons and food totals.
Thank you for any help :flower3:

I found a condo for my dad for $410 for 6 nights a few weeks ago. He said that they were very nice and not too far from the parks. He enjoyed himself. I told him he owes me a trip to Disney now!

Watch Travelzoo.com like a hawk! I got Comfort Inn LBV for $29 a night for two nights and since it is booked directly with the hotel I can cancel with no penalty. Yesterday I saw a nice Hilton Garden Inn for $49 a night.

Are you flying or driving? I am only asking b/c rental cars have been insane lately!

When are you looking to go? We stayed at Windsor Hills in a 3 BR condo in 2008. I could give you the website of the people we rented through if you like. they are reputable and I really liked renting from them.
Windsor Hills gave us the space and convenience we needed, but with security and closeness to the parks.

Condo in Grand Palms: $52.00 a night.
We're returning guests so we got a discount. Regularly it's $60, still an amazing deal.

So with rates as low as $29 to $50, that would beat the Disney Value rate of $82-$100 by $50 - $70 a night. A stay for 6 nights would save between $300 to $420. Thank you for your replies, not sure when we will be going (probably by autotrain) but that gives us some idea of the difference between staying onsite and offsite.

Edit - I just wanted to add that it's hard for me to think of staying offsite since I guess I'm spoiled with POP and the dining plan (hoping for free next time). I guess the other thing about staying offsite might be if we got a condo we could save more $$$ on some meals like breakfast and lunch....not all I like to be pampered on Disney vacation LOL

Keep in mind that off sit hotels often have poor transportation, so the cost of renting a car will have to be added in, as well as parking.

Don't forget that depending on when you go, it may be worthwhile to pay bit more to stay at a Value but with the free dining plan. And staying on site means no rental car. You can use Magical Express to/from the airport and the bus system on the property.

staying offsite-add 14.00 per park day to your cost for the room. Also ask yourself do you want cheap? or a good vacation? sometimes those are different things;)
