Today is our check-in at CBR (although we are actually arriving early tomorrow morning on a red eye). I already completed online check in and I received this message in my email this morning. I was planning on stopping at the front desk anyway to pick up our gift card, but was curious why we wouldn't be auto-assigned a room. Thoughts?

We got a similar text -- they wanted to let us know that they had our room request but there was a delay in it becoming available, and they asked if we wanted another room that would be available right away or did we want to wait.

That happened to us a few years back at OKW. It turned out they had a "mechanical issue" that necessitated moving us to another resort. We are long-time DVC members and OKW is our home resort, so it was disappointing. However, the resort manager was exceptionally accommodating and we were transferred to Bay Lake Towers into a delightful MK-view room as well as a cash credit on our account. We had considered purchasing points at BLT for a few years, but eventually decided not to. However, it is one of our favorite resorts and we've always loved the Contemporary. So it was a very enjoyable trip if different than what we expected.

We have gotten this message on our last two trips. Our room was ready to go when we arrived.

I have had that message a few times. Once, there was a resort wide computer problem where MB wouldn't open the doors, so I had to get a key card before going to the room. Another time they has shampooed the carpet in my room and wanted me to be aware of that before accessing the room in case I wanted to switch. It could be anything really, but I have always had a room ready when I got there.

It may even just be the gift card.

Another option is that they've moved you a tier in room -- maybe preferred or water view, maybe pirate if that's not what you booked. (Pirate isn't an upgrade, whatever they claim to you.)

Thanks everyone for the replies! I guess I will be waiting for the mystery to be resolved until we get there tomorrow morning.

Luckily we have 5 people on our reservations, so the Pirate rooms aren't an option :)

We got the message one time with a BLT stay. When we stopped by the front desk, they told us that our 2 bedroom villa was on the 16th floor and we needed special elevator access placed on our magic bands.
