Cameron has been sick with an ear infection for over 2 weeks now. Today we started a new antibiotic. Tonight he suddenly spiked a fever of 102.4 and has a terrible headache. I am very worried about him. He is snuggled into my bed now watching SpongeBob, but he just called me because he is very dizzy.

He has a great Captain Jack costume that he has been waiting to wear for over a month now. Please pray that he will feel better tomorrow.

Thanks,
Tracey

I will say a prayer for Cameron....I hope the little guy is well enough for Halloween, and everything else..:grouphug:

Hugs to you too Tracey  ,

Aw Tracey, what a bummer for Cameron to be feeling crummy! The ear stuff can make him dizzy, tough to know if it's that or the new med. Sending truckloads of "feel better VERY soon!" wishes for him.....and a hug for you too.

Let us know how he's doing!!

Thanks guys!
He is feeling a little better today. The fever is still there but very low grade. He has been resting all day to conserve his energy. DH is going to pull him in our wagon, so hopefully he will make it for trick-or-treat. He's planning to try anyway.:thumbsup2

I am so glad he is feeling better and I hope he got lots of loot for trick or treat..

Well, DH made the Black Pearl for Cam to ride around in last night. He covered the bottom of our wagon with black cardboard, hung a huge black sail off the back, and topped it with a Jolly Roger. It looked great! So, Captain Jack (Cam) rode around on the Black Pearl thru the entire neighborhood. His buddies took turns taking his trick-or-treat bucket to the doors with them. He looked like he had been hitting the rum... laying back on his "ship". :rotfl:

But, he is still feeling pretty bad. I am taking him back to the doc. today. Hopefully they can figure out something to help him.

Thank you so much for the prayers. :goodvibes

Cam is starting to feel better. :goodvibes

His doctor visit wasn't much fun. They did a finger stick for a CBC and mono test, and a swab for strep. Mono and strep were negative but his blood counts were a little off. So he ended up getting 2 antibiotic shots. :sad1: We also have to continue the oral antibiotic for 7 more days.

BUT, as the evening went on last night he seemed to feel better and better. :woohoo: He slept with me again, but the fever didn't come back. He goes back to the doc this afternoon, so we shall see what the day brings....

Well, news from the doc wasn't all good. His ear is worse! So, now we try another antibiotic... I was shocked to find out that my co-pay will be over $87! :faint: I didn't fill it at first. I was going to call the doctor and ask for something cheaper, but after DH and I talked about it we decided to go ahead and get it in the morning. I pray that this one will work. :worried:

Glad he got to enjoy Halloween. I wish he were feeling better, and the new medication works..:grouphug:

How is Cam doing, Tracey??
Thanks for asking, Ann.
He is doing a little better. Tonight was his last dose of the most recent antibiotic. He has been taking different ones since around Oct. 14. We go on Thursday to see if it worked this time. He is still having some pain in his ear, so I'm a little worried. He also felt terrible after school today. He went to sleep and we couldn't wake him at all until almost 9 pm. He got up, ate a little dinner, did homework, and went back to bed. I just wish he would start feeling better again.

Oh hugs... I wonder if it is time to see a specialist if you are not already seeing one??

Just a thought here because he should be feeling better after the antibiotic...

Hugs

Thanks Marsha!
This is why I LOVE the DIS! It never even crossed my mind to ask to see a specialist. If it isn't clear tomorrow I'm definitely going to ask.
THANKS AGAIN!!! :goodvibes

Finally, after a month, 3 oral antibiotics, and 2 shots... CAM'S EAR IS CLEAR! :woohoo:

I can't THANK YOU all enough for all your sweet words and prayers. He really had me worried.
